Wondering about the Speakerphone and BT on X700

I read the X700 manual, and it said that if "active flip" is selected, closing the flip during a call would end the conversation. Does this apply to situations where a call is in progress on the speakerphone or on a bluetooth headet???

Also, how is the incomming/outgoing voice quality and volume on the phone, speakerphone, and bt headset?

Thanks.

Yes, when active flip is enabled, it hangs up the call when using the handsfree headsets, wired or wireless. Stupid, but the way it works.

Audio quality is great over all mobile interfaces. The speakerphone is not nearly to nextel levels. In fact, I am disappointed in the lack of volume. I belive it is lower than than GD87. At least it seems less usable.
but I am much happier overall than I was with GD87 or X70

Without 'active flip', you can continue calls on your bluetooth headset when closing the flip; and if you are taking a voicecall on the handset, closing the flip will automatically route the voice call to the speakerphone which is quite nifty.

can you answer a call on the bt headset with the flip closed?

you can either let it auto answer or depending on your headset, answer it from there.

When connected to a BT headset, does it ring only on the headset like Nokia's S60 devices or does the phone ring too?

Wirelessly posted (nOObis: X700/1.0 SymbianOS/7.0 Series60/2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0)

Both headset and phone rings ... get this your headset has the same ringtone as the phone, so many surprises!

Not a big fan of the aftermarket cases. I like OEM ones. They fit right. Thanks for the link.

I got my phone... love it, appart from the Vodafone crap. I got the x701, it was a late christmas gift my mother got for me in Italy just 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately the phone ONLY rings on the headset and not the phone. Is there anything that can be done about it?

Posted by: rip

sorry Devis, i sold mine because i replaced it with a PPC phone, it's most likely the flex version doesn't allow it...mine came with a non-carrier specific flex.
