how do I use JAD and JAR files?

I got a CD that has instructions on how to get free games and apps. The instructions say I need to "download the edited file". The CD has lots of *.jad and *.jar files. I tried to use Bitpim to add these files to my phone but that didn't work. Are these the edited files? 
How do I use them?

Verizon phones use the BREW applications. .JAR/.JAD files are java, IIRC. You're SOL, I believe.

well lets see..do you have a data cable and do you have a program thats can grab the files from your phone and upload to it if you have that then i beleive that it should be able to work

I forgot to add that I do have a data cable as well as bitpim and winhex
