Problem uploading ringtones to VX7000

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've uploaded ringtones before to my VX7000 by emailing *.mid files to myphonenumber@vzwpix.com.

I've tried to to this the last couple of days, and got a message "Failed to play pix msg". I've made the files smaller, but that doesn't work. The last message I sent was only 42654 Bytes.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Stupid question do you need a certain feature on your 7000 to be turned on like web access for email? I'm not subscribed for anything like that so I can't do the email method? Must get the cable from RS?

I signed up for the vzwpix.com got a text message for the password then a text message when I sent the .mid file saying had something at vzwpix but nothing on my phone.

Plus did I get charged for the 2 text messages since i have no packages?

Thanks any help would be great

Try and drop down the bit rate.....like 22 or 24, the file will be smaller and therefore you'll be able to get more of the song on your clip.

Remember, we're not talking about a stereo speaker here....or for that matter even like the 8000 (dual speakers). You won't notice a difference when lowering the bit rate. The 22500 is perfect.

I have a link to one of my sites below. Download a few songs off there and see if the sound quality is any good.

i got some that are 22500. i only keep about 3 ringtones on mine at a time though. change them out maybe once a week. thats why i went ahead and made them that high.

In your case, yeah, the higher bit rate is fine. In my case, I'm to lazy (lol) to change ringtones every week. (maybe once a month or so)

So, 30+ ringtones on my phone is the norm. I have most of my regular callers on their own ringer. The higher bit rate wouldn't work for me.

I guess it comes down to how many you want on your phone.

Monday, I am getting a new V710, so memory will never be a problem again....(ya gotta love phones with memory cards....and blue tooth ain't nothing to sneeze at either)

My 7000 is going in the junk pile. Camera blows compared to the 9900 and for ×××× sure the 710. I've had to take it apart 4 times because I have gotten something (mostly dirt) in the rotating camera and it has become stuck in one position.

I've had mine since it came out, and it just flops open now. There's like 8000 calls, and I have had to replace the case twice now (the front part). Also the pads have worn out and the inside screen has permanent scratches from the key pad rubbing against it.

For people who don't use a phone that much, it's not bad, but if you use a phone a lot, this phone doesn't seem to wear well. Or at least mine didn't.

Then again, I am pretty abusive with all mine. I figure for the price we pay, I should be able too.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me... I got a couple CDs off of ebay with ringtones, wallpaper, and other stuff for my phone. I am totally pissed cuz the wallpapers don't fit, but besides that, the ringtones sound totally distorted! Is that how they are supposed to sound? :hurt: The volume has to be super low for it to sound somewhat normal for mp3's. Is this the quality of the items on the CD or are they normally like this? When I play the mp3's or midi files for that matter, on my laptop they sound fine. Someone PLEASE let me know. I am feeling so disappointed.
