VX6100 Driver HELP HELP HELP

I am ready to pull out my hair. Had both DataPilot and Bitpim sort of working. Datapilot brought in my contact names but not phone numbers. I was able to download my photos in Bitpm, but now neither will work. Somehow I think I have screwed up the drivers. Can someone suggest the correct drivers for the cable so I can start over.
BitPim is giving me the error:
LG-VX6100 on COM5: The phone is not responding while transitioning mode from none to brew.

I have this problem occassionly. Try powering your phone off and then turning it back on. That always fixes it for me.
