Hi,

I've had a few weeks with my v551 and am looking forward to dowloading and uploading pics and getting new ring tones, etc.

I have ordered a USB cable for it, and it's on its way. I intend to transfer everything via cable so I'm not horny over bluetooth right now.

1 thing is left and I'm a little unsure:

Is there a specific version of Motorola Mobile Phone Tools I should be shooting for?

I have come across many 2.0 and 2.1 versions on CD.

I have seen some 3.11 versions on CD available on ebay.

I understand that once I get these "core" files, I will be able to get 1 free "upgrade" - from what I gather this is 3.19e- and this upgrade will be the one which features the v551.

Am I missing something here? or it really doesn't matter ? Or is there a version that I should get that makes life with the v551 easy?

...nothing like dissing the people your asking for help...it's ok though, it's my bad, i misunderstood.

version 3.11 of the Motorola Mobile Phone Tools does not get any free upgrades. it works with the v551, but it looks like an e398 on the computer, all features still function though. if you want it to look right, i think someone posted a skin (and instructions) for it. (works with the origional BVRP Mobile Phone Tools v3.11 also)

the origional BVRP Mobile Phone Tools v3.11 does include 1 update, and it that update includes the proper files for the v551 skin.
