Hey guys, I just recieved my i860 today in the mail from Nextel and I am really curious about the mp3 ringers. How do we put mp3 ringers on the phone? Surely a whole mp3 wont fit due to memory but how can you make a clip of a mp3, or is there a site to download mp3 ringers? Thank you and sorry if this was posted already.

you can upload mp3's as ringtones using webjal (whole other story if you dont know what webjal is ). Wav files work easier though and aren't as big. You can also edit your own mp3's into ringtones using Adobe Premeire. Once you cut them up in their you can export them as wav files and upload them. You can find some mp3's and wav ringtones (actual clips of songs w/ words) at idenstop.com. Most of them are hip-hop and rap tracks if that's what your lookin for. hope this helps somewhat.

no mp3 ringtones are smaller then wave ones. You can fit more. You can also load whole mp3's on it you want.

i was having the same problem as u guys, but the program i use is goldwave. The settings for the mp3 should be this. 8,000 hz, mono, 48kbs. that should work.

the correct bitrate for i860 mp3 ringtones is 32 kbps, 8000 Hz, Mono.

i use dbpoweramp and wavpad to edit/convert mp3's and wavs. try wavpad if you're tired of guessing when to cut the file with soundrecorder. (it's a free program, can't beat free)

i searched for Wavpad on Yahoo, MSN, altavista, and Google and couldn't find a site where i can download the wavpad program. Can someone please tell me exactly where i can get this??
