Just got an AT&T T616 that I need to get unlocked to accept my Cingular SIM. Does anyone know of a place (or person) in LA that will do that for me? Or a store here where I can buy an unlocker cable?

You should check the Marketplace.

Please support vendors in the Marketplace, as they support HowardForums via advertising fees. There is a vendor in LA called "Mobile Express" that should be able to help you.

Also, supporting companies that have been doing business for a long time is your assurance that they do an adequate job. Most of the time, a simple SIM unlock procedure will go flawlessly. But, there are times when the worst case scenario comes up, and a phone needs to be replaced, or repaired [properly] with the correct equipment. People doing these odd jobs out of their garage, or meeting you at Starbucks might not be able to provide any type of warranty other than verbally.

We had to quit advertising in the MarketPlace for the time being due to such people that use a "loophole" to advertise their services on HowardForums such as "PM for more info." Once that goes down to a minimum, we will happily support HowardForums with advertising revenue.
