When my SX66 goes into sleep mode, I cant answer the phone using bluetooth headset, I tried 3 different bluetooth headsets, it works fine as long you dont let it go into sleep mode.

This is a known problem with the bluetooth stack on the SX66. They are working on a ptach specific to this phone, but if you search for informaiton on the PDA2K (same phone different branding) you'll see that there are patches already available.

After patching to the 3500 release pf BT for PDA2K, I can use my HS810 to answer and end calls. No more static either. Range could be better, but it is acceptable fo now.

I'm not sure what you mean by sleep mode.

On my SX66 I can turn on the PocketPC, turn on the cellular radio, look up an item in my calendar, turn off the PocketPC or let it cycle off after 3 minutes and still answer calls from my Nokia HS-3W Bluetooth headset. When a call comes in the PocketPC wakes and displays the call information.

Is the problem you describe the inability to answer a call from your BT headset after the PocketPC cycles off? What type of headset are you using?

I have the SX66 and the Motorola HS810 bluetooth and do have that problem where when the phone goes to sleep mode and the bluetooth boom is closed, when a call comes in, I open the boom to connect my bluethooth and have difficulty as well. So I end up taking the call on the SX66 and on the phone, I have to do a 'reset' by closing the bluetooth boom, reopen it, before it sometimes connect to continue with my call.

I did a search on PDA2K and found msmobiles.com for the I-mate PDA2K (http://www.msmobiles.com/news.php/3446.html). Would this be the place you went to download the patch?

Thanks.

I downloaded the patch but am not sure how to get it into the SX66.

Where did you download the 3500 patch? Do you have a link for that?

The website does not seem to take in US IMEI #'s and hence I cannot register.
To the person that downloaded the patch can you please post it here or send me an email

If its a CAB file that you downloaded the process is to copy the file via ACTIVESYNC to any location on your PocketPC
You then use file explorer navigate to your file on the PocketPC and then double click, it will self install

Here is where I got the patch. This comes from a thread from the Pocket PC area. There is some good info on there you just have to know the other names that the SX66 goes by.

This file needs to be renamed to an exe. file

Interesting that yours works. Can you check your blutooth stack version and let us know what it is?

I updated mine to the 3500 version and it works like a charm. Don't worry about it, it's a patch that goes in ram so you can always hard reset it to get rid of it. BTW, do a backup first just in case.

My SX66 Bluetooth stack is 1.0.0.2400.

I just upgraded my BT stack to 3500 as well.

When I got the device it was using the 2400 rev. The problem I found with it was that it would lose connection with my BT headset. As well the pda screen would sometimes power up from sleep mode on it's own. Also when the BT headset was paired with the phone, there was a delay in sending the signal to the headset. ie. the PDA would be on it's 3rd ring before the headset activates and start ringing. This is a problem for me b/c after the 4th ring the call will jump to voice mail.

With the new stack, when a call comes in the ppc wakes and the bt headset receives signal right away. To me this is a major improvement.

Oh just fyi, I am using an SE HBH-200. The 3500 rev stack is the O2 version (Dunno if that is diff from the imate one)

Well, here's an update, I am taking mine back to Cingular today (within the 30 days to get a refund) I can live with the blutooth and WIFI problems, but what I cant live with is the dropping of calls. I went to Denver last weekend and it droped a call between the airport and Denver on E-470, also on I-25 in south Denver, as soon as I got disconnected it would show 4 bars of signal, I think it is not switching towers.

I may wait a year and see how it works then.

Good luck everyone.
