Alright guys, is there anyway to get the Kyocera KX2/Koi w/ data cable to work with Bitpim?

I think a lot of us will only get this phone if there is a way to connect my phone to the computer and edit.

If not bitpim, perhaps gagin? or a completely separate software? anyone who has actually done any of this, please help!

And just to clarify, realtones (with words in addition to the music) work with it, right?

PS) i'm correct that there's no way to get the Koi to vibrate and ring at the same time?

I used QPST. It has an explorer and it looks like gagin. Just more stable.

Can ya give me a link to get QPST? is it as easy to use as Bitpim?

Did you have any trouble putting wallpapers and mp3 ringtones (realtones) on it?

The interface is the same AS gagin. Just alittle different, youll see. "Mp3" ringtones are a ××××× to setup, and I haven't sent wallpapers yet. I might try today. Let me find you the QPST setup file.

Well i assume that's supposed to read mp3 ringtones are a biitchh to set up...so how come?

I really don't want the phone if i can't have tones with lyrics to them included...how hard is it?

Well, Right now, someone on here, converted the mp3 to qcp then renamed it MID and sent it to their phone and it played file. I did the same thing.

Do you have to use a special program for those conversions? And do you have to mess with the frequency rates and all?

Right now. You convert mp3 to play like in a slider, then another program converts it to QCP format and then you rename it from blah.qcp to blah.mid and then send it to your phone by V#@vwpix orwhaever.com or by the datacable.

What do you mean by "you convert mp3 to play like in a slider"? And what free program did you use that converts it to QCP?

Go read the long, long post that has info on mp3s in the slider. It's very well detailed there.

In a nutshell, you use the audio editor Audacity (freeware) to get the mp3 configured right.

The last question is: what do you use to change the mp3 to a qcp?

I'm interested to know, too.
Anyone?

I've had my Koi now for a few weeks, but haven't had an opportunity to play with the datacable possibilities. Soon, soon.
