well i email all my ringtones to my phone and the only ones i can email r ones other people have made that are in .mid format
my question is how do i make my own ringtones from my own mp3s and what format do they have to be in to send them to my phone throught email and i how do i get them in that format.

You need to change the file extension of your Mp3 files to .mid before you e-mail them to your phone.

Example....

-You have a file called Yoursong.mp3
-Right click on it.
-Select "rename"
-Delete the .mp3 leaving "Yoursong"
-Replace it with .mid
-Leaving "Yoursong.mid"

Then e-mail it to your phone. Even though you aren't technically changing the file to midi, just the extension, it still works.

ok i used soundforge to edit my mp3 file to make it about 30 secs long. after i did that it saved as a .wav file. so i did what u said i deleted .wav and put .mid and when i went to send it to my phone the file size was 4.07MB which i believe is too big and when i saw the file name it was "my song".mid.wav and i couldnt change it.
i still tried to email it by sending it to my phone by sending it to "myphonenumber".vzwpix.com and it hasnt reached my phone cuz i am guessin the size was too big
so what should i do know.

First off, you need to save the file as mp3 not wav.

Second, 4 MB is WAY to big. It should be under 200 Kb.

Third, to change the file extension you need to:

-Double click My Computer
-Select Tools
-Select Options
-Look for "Hide Extensions for Know File Types"
-Make sure it's NOT checked.

The when you're looking at a file on your PC it should look like:

Song.mp3

You should then be able to right click on it and remove the .mp3 extension and replace it with the .mid one.
