how come every time i try downloading the "free" version, it asks me for a serial number??

just let it register online. it will connect to sonys server then start your 30 day trial. if you're at the screen where its asking for a serial then you clicked "register from another computer" or something like that, go back to the beginning of the registration and register online.
it doesnt mean you're buying the program
