I have a whole lot of different drivers for my VX4400b cell phone and the radioshack non-straight cable..... i keep getting "USB device not detected" when i plug in the cable into my computer.

I have tried it both on XP Sp1 and win2k. I get same error... is there something I should do first? any settings I should change in windows?

thanks

okay well, after downloading the USB installer.exe from the futuredial website, i installed the drivers, selcting the VX10.

Now, when I plug in my cable into the comp, it does nothing.... no errors no detecting new COM port or anything. If I dont have my fone connected to that cable, and I plug in the cable to the computer, it will just say USB device not recognized.

I at least have a pattern of the problem.

What else could i Be missing??

well the problems vary from computer to computer, must be the BIOS

TRY THIS

uninstalled the drivers

reboot the computer

install the driver

shut down

plug the cable in, plug the phone in

start computer

PS make sure you have the Phones 'data port' enabled / turned on

do this in the setup menu

set it for RSC 232 serial port NOT USB
