vx6000 on win2k

i hate to be a bothersome creature but after endlessly searching these forums, i have not come across a solution to my problem. i am running win2k pro and purchased a FutureDial data cable form RadioShack. I got home installled the custom .62 bitpim for the vx6000 and was able to do as i pleased. This morning i boot up (PC) and there are some recognition problems. the prolific drivers had somehow uninstalled them selves and now when i try to add the driver manually by means of the new/remove hardware feature it simpily will not let me do it. windows states that it has found a more up to date driver. (C:\WinNT\inf\usb.inf) I try installed that and i recieve an error...
i'm gonna be up all night ...if anyone has a solution please reply or IM me
