Had a Call From Siemens Customer Service in Germany

Very strange. I just received a call from a Siemens customer service representative in Cologne, Germany. He asked me how Siemens USA technical center had been able to help me with my SX1 problems. I told him, they did not - they confessed to not having any technical knowledge about the telephone.

I made the following observations to this representative:

1.- Their software sending system is not working. Customers are not getting the configuration files that the site is supposed to send. I told him how I had to go to the Sendo site to get the picture messaging configuration sent to me (thanks to 4mula1 for the tip).

2.- I told him that the variant number that I am using has not been upgraded. It is still stuck on 12_0001.

3.- I also told him about the date and time changing problem I am having everytime the telephone is turned off and on.

4.- I asked him to have Siemens USA technical center call me and offer me some solutions.

The chap, he was an englishman, was quite decent and promised to forward my comments to Siemens headquarters.

Lets see what comes of all this.

It uses a modified UI, but it will still run S60 apps. I'm not sure without looking what version of Symbian the X runs. I know all newer Nokias are using Symbian 7.0s, where the SX1 is using the older Symbian 6.x that the N3650 is using.

The X runs on Symbian 6.1 as well.

We always use the Siemens OTA settings service when configurating the Nokia S60 devices here at the office

You're right, it's not working currently.
Strange.

Let's hope they fix it. I don't remember the name of the company that operate their OTA-service, but it's not Siemens themself.
