8900 phone and midi ringtones

Can I transfer midi ringtones to the Audiovox 8900 or do only mp3's work for ringtones?

Yes you can do it, but it makes no sense to use a data cable for a mid ringtone. This is because you can just send it as a file attachment to yournumber@vzwpix.com

I have US Cellular, I know I can do it that way but doesnt it cost money to send the mid file to the phone while on the other hand using the data cable does not?

Read the tutorials for 8900 thread at the top of this page, it explains how to do it with the data cable.
