hey did anyone ever hear back from motorola about the free bluetooth headset. i filled it out literally as soon as i had recieved the email but havent heard a word back from motorola.

I was in Nevada when I got the notice which was around December 10th, I immediately registered but have heard nothing from Motorola since that time.

well i just hope moto didnt screw me outta it. cuz i knew of the promotion and had registered to be notified about it. then like dec. 5 or 7 or so the thing about it showed up on motos website again. so i clicked on the link and it redirected me to the main page. i called up moto and they didnt know why so they directed me to another part of there site to register phones. so i did. then when i got the email in the morning (guess it was dec. 10) i called up moto and asked if i shoudl reregister it on there to get the headset and they said yes. so who knows...i just really hope they didnt screw me for reregistering the phone. I tried to call today but none of them know a damm thing. moto uses outsourcing so they are all from inda and to be honest not very helpfull. i called up four times and recieved for diff numbers to call and all wer either not valid numbers are let to to a different company who had no clue what i was talking about.

so i got my fingers crossed that i will get one... heck i have been holding off on purchasing one for this very reason....

im in the same boat...signed up to get notified when the mpx220 was available (even though i already had mine) got the email, registered my phone and haven't heard a thing....tried calling motorola but person had no idea what I was talking about and basically said the promotion was over and I couldn't sign up apparently he didn't understand that I already had signed up...hopefully I will hear something

no notification just showed up via UPS today. I actually forgot all about it--was surprised when I opened the box.

I've used the HS810 before and loved it--Didn't care for teh HS820 though---I have since changed my phone to a nokia 7610--wasn't getting a good RF with the motorola mpx 220--I hung in there as long as I could, but after 3 handsets, I needed a phone with good RF.--The nokia far out ranks the mpx 220 with regards to RF.

I have the 810 as well. I found that my MPx220 outperforms my v600, v551, v400, and my nokia 3120. The bars always seem to read a little low but call quality has never been better especially in the places where I cannot even make calls with the other phones. Mileage truly caries when dealing with this equipment.

Just received my shiny new Motorola HS810 Bluetooth Headset from the "First 100 To Register Your MPx220" promotion. It comes in a plain brown box from Young America, a company known for handling, both bad and good, many rebates of consumer elctronics companies.

It is simply the Moto HS810 in a plastic bag and the Owners Manual. As you may know, those who have bought one retail, it normally comes with the HS810, AC Travel Charger and Blue Nylon Belt Clip Carry Case and a neck lanyard. Because the AC charger of the phone works with the Moto HS810, I assume they were looking to cut down on expense. No complaints here, although the charger splitter cable would have been a nice and inexpensive throw in, Ill take a FREE headset all day long, with or without AC Power Supply etc

At least I caught my own typo first . That should read "First 1000 To Register Your MPx220", not 100

In regards to the other question about contact info etc, that box contains nothing but the HS 810 in plastic bubblewrap and an Owners manual. Nothing else, period.

I can't imagine that most of us won't get one of these. AT&T and Motorola took a long time sending out the invitation and since most of us us that even got the AT&T MPX220, we only were able to get it through NBO, I would think that there were not even 1000 who registered. Even looking at this thread there were only a few posts, which is unlike the last promo with the V600 that had hundreds of posts. If I recall, the rebate fulfillment center is out of MN, I hope the headset will be in Florida in the next day or so. I was one who emailed Motorola about this deal as I had my MPX220 for several weeks before I got the invitation to register.

well i hope that i get one in the next day or two... i got my mpx220 mid november registered it on motos website and then registered it again the second that i got the email from them about it... so i really better get one or else i am going to be real upset... well i have my fingers crossed heres hoping i get mine soon.

I was really glad to see this thread.

I just received a nice BT headset and manual from somewhere in Minnesota yesterday. Just showed up with no letter of any kind.

I honestly don't remember doing anything to get this and just assumed that it was being sent instead of a rebate check or part of some promotion I got involved with through one of my many purchases.

I am not sure if I'll use this since I hate having stuff on my ears. May sell it!

Got mine on Fri. in Dallas. Totally unexpected since I thought the original Moto HS giveaway was only for MPx220 phones registered on AT&T - and I'm Cingular.

Well - considering all the pains exchanging and setting up three different handsets for firmware upgrades, all early MPX220 buyers should get one!!

I guess I got mine today. I forgot I had done that a while back and bam the UPS guy was out my house just now. What threw me off was it came from Young America Corp. Glencoe, MN.

Someone asked, and I live in California and I got mine today.

Does anyone know what feature the mpx 220 with the HS810 support? Forexample , if you are on a call and hold the "multifuntion" button will the call be placed on hold?

it the motorola HS810 in case you were wonder didn't come in a box only uPs box and inside it was in bubble wrap with an included instruction booklet and thats it.

Had to be in same time frame i ordered my mpx 220 on 30th of november was on back order recieved it about the 6th of dec. i won one the last time when i had my v600 hopefully they dont fault me for it haha.

btw has anyone figured out a work around to get voice dail to work with the hs810 and mpx220, I know windows 2003 sp edition don't support it but is there a registry edit to fix this or a third party app?

Yes, I had forgotten all about it but it came in the mail 1/28/05. I in the box, it was only a headset and an instruction book. They didn't even send the charger and it was not even in the package like it looks in the store. Now I have two that I don't need. Well I guess you can't complaign when you get something free!!

I opened my box and it was empty, I called the address that sent it and they show it was supposed to be a headset but have no idea what the offer was. So I searched and found it. Here is the link if anyone is interested.

I registered mine on Dec. 10...the same day i got the e-mail from moto.

In the e-mail, it informs that the mpx220 is available to purchase and there is this link on the bottom of the email to register your phone. IIRC, the registration process required you to enter your IMEI.

I noticed that this link from the email is different to the one in the post above my previous post in this thread.

What's really odd is that I didn't register anywhere for this. I bought my phone at a Cingular store, but I'm certain I didn't register for a free headset.

My first thought when opening the box and seeing the manual was that they forgot to include the headset, but then I noticed it in the bubble wrap.

Not sure how much use I'll have for it. I'm partial to the Jabra headsets...

I received mine about a week ago with no advanced warning. I thought it was a DVD that I ordered, but to my suprise it was the Bluetooth earpiece.

I charged it up and made my phone recognize the device, but since then when I turn on the earpiece, I can't connect with the phone. Any ideas? (Yes, the Bluetooth function is turn on in the phone!)

Check out the documentation that came with the headset on how to set it up with the phone initially.

What I remember is:

1. You need to put the phone into Discovery mode (you can put it back to just "on" after the earpiece is set up).

2. With the earpiece closed you hold the main button until the blue light comes on. Then you open it.

3. The phone should then pick it up and ask for an access code. It is the highly-secretive value of "0000".

4. You can then put the phone back into just "Bluetooth on" mode. Whenever you open the earpiece the phone should connect to it. Note that I have noticed that it doesn't always pick it up if the phone is turned on after the earpiece is opened. In that case you just need to close and re-open the earpiece.

This is vaguely how I remember it going. Check your manual to be sure. I am very happy with this earpiece. Except for the lack of voice dial support this is a wonderful feature.

I don't think it has been mentioned before, but it doesn't appear that anyone that isn't a Cingular/ATT customer will receive the headset.
I am a TMobile customer and signed on before some other people that have already received the headset and I am still waiting for it... Anyone here who is not a Cingular/ATT customer received his/her headset?

I purchased my MPX220 through AT&T NBO the first day it was available, I completed the registration within hours of receiving the email, yet I haven't heard or received anything yet

I also purchased mine from AT&T NBO and haven't heard anything. I called motorola and they said that those that are slated to receive a headset should have gotten a notification email. I referenced the fact that many on some online forums claimed they received their headsets without any advance email notification. They said that if I didn't get an email then I was not one of the first 1,000. However, this is highly unlikely because like many of you I signed up immediately for the offer, having known about it by being an MPX200 user. I hear that young america is handling the offer. Doesn't seem to be any real rhyme or reason to the way they handled the distribution. I wonder if an actual number of 1,000 people received headsets.

If I recall, the offer was for AT&T users, or at least the offer I signed up for. I don't believe that there were 1000 NBO members who even knew about this offer and it looks to me like AT&T is trying to get out of the offer or just decided to honor the Cingular offer as it seems only Cingular Orange users got the headset.

Where was you guy's shipped from? was it "Young America Corporation" in MN somewhere? Coz I've just got one this morning, and it's from Young America Corporation. Hmm, I was very surprise and still am :S. Because I've just purchased MPx220 on Ebay about a month ago, and don't remember if I've signed up for this somewhere
