Just got my 4th MPX220 new stickers on the phone & display washed out (attws version)

Well i just recieved my 4th MPX220 from ATTWS NBO. The first thing that i noticed immediatly was that there are two new stickers on the phone. One on the speakerphone and one on the earpiece that say "Remove Film" I thought that was kinda interesting.

the next thing that i noticed is that the display looks so washed out comparecd to my other MPX220's. I am thinking that it has something to do with the contrast but i have searched through the phone and i have no clue how to change it. i found the outside caller id contrast and it looks so much darker as well, even with the contrast brightened up. I also checked to see if this was a new firmware but nope still .343

and suprisingly the battery door fits very very snug on this one. it actually feels very good.

I am just not to sure if i should try to exchange this phone for a 5 one, because of the display... I am just getting really really fedup with this phone.

p.s. would anyone be willing to host a couple of pics so i can show u the sticker on the phone and a side by side comparasion of the displays...

so what is the newest firmware version and exactly how do I go about checking it?

(what buttons do I need to press?)

I read that this is how to look for it, and how I now think I have the 1.3 (and if this is the wrong way, then I am in TROUBLE, because my box had no stickers on it whatsoever -- although, it had the date 12/12/04 on it, which I took as assurance that it wasn't one of the 'older' mpx220s released around 11/04):

Start > Settings > About...scroll down to Manufacturer (under ROM update versions). Mine reads:


Manufacturer: 1.30.0.0

I had this issue on 2 of the 8 I have had and there is no way to fix it... You should return it and check the new one out before you leave the store

well unfortunatly this is through ATTWS NBO so everything is dont over the phone. Its the only way to get the phone from the Cingular blue side. i am so frustrated i am thinking of just ordering a really cheap phone from them and then sending this one in to get fixed. i am just sooo fedup at this pt. and no one at moto knows a thing....eeeeerrrrrrr
