I have an upgrade on my cellular contract coming up and I am trying to decide on a new "smartphone/PDA" as such.
Any experiences good or bad and which way would you go given the choice of the above 3. Unfortunately I can't add the Imate Jam or the SP3i to those choices as it doesn't look like they will be available in our country for a little while.

Well it really depends on size vs price vs functionality. You have to decide which one is the most important.
For example, if you want to have an all out device that you can basically replace your laptop with for extended periods of time and don't care about the cost, then thej PDA2k is the way to go. If you prefer something more economical with easy 1 handed use, and are primarily a voice user, the SP3 is the way to go. If you want a combo of both, but don't mind giving up the full functionality of the PDA2k for the same price, then go with the P910. I went with the SMT5600 (iteration of the SP3) and I love it so far, perfect for my needs. I used to have a bt phone + Pocket PC combination, but the small form factor with 85% pocket pc functionality really brought me over to the smartphone

One of my major issues is the contact functionality available in the standard mobile phones.
I have around 1200 contacts with multiple numbers, email addresses etc which I wanted to be able to synchronise on my cellular.
I like the P910 but am worried about the synchronisation of the OS with Outlook which still seems to be an issue.
The PDA2K seems a little large for what I need and slightly too big for every day carry. The Jam probably would have been ideal but is only available here in June (annoying).
How much functionality does the sp3 have in comparison to something like the PDA2K? When you say 85% functionality, what do you really lose out on?

With the SP3 you'll have access almost everything on the PDA2K that is communication oriented. You lose out on features like Microsoft Word and Excel, and other such things that can't really be used on the Smartphone anyway.
I have to say that I think you should stay away from the P910. It didn't like the way it would sync with Outlook, leaving out entire fields of information in Contacts. It is also difficult to enter information on. I loved its functionality as a phone, but as a PDA phone it was quite horrible.
Of the three phones you have listed, I definitely think that the SP3 is the right choice. Looking for contacts is VERY easy with the WM Smartphones, and all of the other functions are quite impressive as well. Were it not for the keyboard, I'd trade my Treo 600 in for one....(that is, by the way, another phone you might consider looking at if you don't mind having no bluetooth...plus, the battery lasts longer than any of the phones you listed
)
