Is it possible to use the AudioVox 8910BM (from Bell Mobility) as a modem for internet?

Well.. what I have it mind is having the data cable connected to the phone and to a laptop, and then surf the internet from the computer.

Anyway special drivers / softwares to enable this feature?

Thankyou in advance!

Yes it is possible. I do it all the time with my Verizon phone, though I don't think it matters which provider you use as lon as you are dialing into an ISP (I use MSN). You need a data cable and drivers (Curitel works for me). If you are using Windows 2K or XP it will add the hardware automatically. You will have to change your dialing properties so your software knows to use the cell to dial out. This will use minutes so be careful how long you are on. Hope this helps.

HI, just FYI. with verizon, you do not need to use MSN to connect to the internet. verizon provides access as part of your plan at no extra charge. if you use your free time then you get internet access for free.

If you have a 1x capable phone, then you can get speeds up to 240k,

check out the verizon forum here for more info.

I may try this -- any free providers still or did they all sell out? I remember back in my dial-up days i used to have juno and/or netzero.
