Is the 7100t USB cable special?

I hate carrying 47 chargers with me, so I got an Apple Airport Express which has a powered USB port and a bunch of USB to <insert device here> cables. It works great. Lowered my traveling weight, etc. The only thing is my stupid BlackBerry. I can ALMOST live with the crippled Bluetooth on it, but I really don't think I should have to carry another charger.

I've also noticed that my computer sometimes doesn't recognize the 7100t when I use a regular old USB A to B cable. It works everytime with the ones that came with the 7100t.

Anyone have any insight into this?

You need a USB cable that is high quality and with all six wires (powered) rather than just four wires (unpowered).

The 7100t, I believe, uses MiniUSB, so I am assuming you use that.

I use the same MiniUSB cable for my digital camera and my BlackBerry. It's a standard MiniUSB.

I can't seem to get the USB cables with the cylinder at the end to work with the BlackBerry. Sorry for the ignorance, but I guess that cylender actually does something.
