After a month of reading all the motorola forums and trying everything possible (except testpoints), I have now revived my phone!
Thanks muchly to Aze2learn and a few people on other forums!

If you read about my drama of my razr v3 that I posted earlier with the 'S Blank Neptune', here's how I got it fixed........

1. I extracted my original pds from the motophoenix chip backup using a hex editor. I opened the extracted pds file in PDSEditor and it seemed fine.
2. I flashed the repair image file to my phone. I could now see the bootloader info display. Also in MFF and SmartMoto displayed 'S Flash Neptune'. Note also that the bootloader was 07E0 at this point.
3. I flash with bootloader 07D0. After could only get into bootloader mode, but it now displayed the bootloader as 07D0.
4. I used ramldr to restore my original pds. On restart I would only get a white screen.
5. I flashed the phone with a MP (42_0ER to be exact). On restart white screen again.
6. I then flashed the 8.26 bootloader (to match the MP description). Success the phone is alive again!

Again thanks Aze2learn and everyone who made this possible!

Noobyz.......the pds is a very important file on your phone, you will need it in extreme cases of revival such as mine, always backup before you flash.......I'm glad I did!

That is exactly what people should do .. make a PDS backup (at least) .. this is the most critical info on the phone. Even though it is just a seem setting for the power level and such .. it is unique for every phone (because it has a security checksum)

Basically to revive a phone, it needs to have a bootloader and a PDS .. from there, you can flash an MP to make it work.

I have an unlocked v186 which has teh following trouble:

Whenever you attempt to make a call it says: Call Failed, the phine successfully connect to the network and has strong signal, but it can not make calls, rapidly says: Call Failed.

I have put different Sim Cards from different providers, but non of them works.

I was planning to flash it or flex it, but I'd like to know if someone has faced this problem and has a direct solution, do you think Reflashing the phone would help ?

About flashing & flexing it, I don't see any flash or flex for this model, I have several flashes and flexes, for many otehrs, like v180, v188, v220, Triplets phones, even v60, v66, v80, but I can't find a flash suitable for v186.

Can I put a flex from a v188 into the v166 ?

i did not so backup, i hv a e398 after flashing ,when on is always on bootloader so i use moto repair studio to repair n it cant on n cant force boot so i hv to test point till it can b detected by mff but the problem is now the phone cant on n cant flash but can b detected in mff,ramldr or flashbackup.pls any 1 help me plssss

Hi,
I just found a V400 that I don't know how to get into Bootlaoder. I have a white screen - *, # Power, just gets me into the white screen - no "DOS' script on a black screen.
Any idea how to get into Bootloader? Phone needs to be flashed.

Sometimes the phone might show only a 'white' screen or no screen at all ... as long as the flasher prg can show connected .. you can start flashing ...

I'm using SmartMoto & that shows that I'm connected, but the phone screen doesn't tell me or show any kind of text. Is that the same thing that you mean? Knowing that I'm connected, I mean because SmartMoto shows it?
I did manage to flash the phone - get sounds & be able to dial - but still no screen.
Anything else I can do?

i THINK I have my situation under control...
I WAS flashing my Motorola V3 Razor and my computer restarted on me within the first 5 minutes of flashing...
my cell phone then was stuck on the SW upgrade in progress...i reseted the phone hoping that the flash was succesfully completed before my computer shut down..BUT it wasnt..
my problem was that my phones screen wouldnt turn on and the keypad would stay lit until i took the battery out..as soon as i put the battery in the lights would turn on not giving me enough time to do the * and # step..(i tried that forever and it just didnt work..i tried many combinations and the screen wouldnt change to flash mode or to whatever it was supposed to change to)
so i searched through the forums and found a link to this program...

this program started flashing on the first try...i didnt have to try the * and # steps..i just connected the phone to usb and it worked
* note...whenever i connected my phone to my comp...my comp would detect the phone..i dont know if this would work if the phone isnt detected at all..

Is my v551 hosed?

I was going through the unlocking method explained here: http://motox.info/showthread.php?t=2927

All was fine until I put my modified PDS back on. The system freaked and stopped working. No biggie, I just put my original PDS back. Everything seemed fine until I noticed that none my buttons were working. Nothing at all worked. At that point I went ahead and did a full restore hoping to return things to the way they were. Since then, I can't even get the bootloader screen.

Using flash backup I can seem to access my phone, though the keypad and screen on the phone never iluminate. I've desperately been trying to flash with anything I can. I finally got a monster pack and went to do a complete flash, but I get to the point where it says "Sending loader" and the progress bar never moves from there. Any ideas?

Also, if I try to send the bootloader again, I get the same error "Sending loader failed! Before continue check is your PDS backup valid. Continue?"

when i flash with monsterpack 09.38R , My v303 can't power on (but it still can connect with MMF ,moto repair studio , ramldr using *#method)
but when i flash with monsterpack 09.58R ,it can power on
i think the boatloader for 09.38R / 72R / OTHER With "same type" boatloader , has broken
but boatloader 09.58R /09.55R hasn't (known that 38R boatloader n 58R boatloader are different )

how can i repair the .38R boatloader?

i've search for FULL FLASH of 38R , but didnt find it , i only find 38R_REFLASH

Hi. I was wondering if you could help me. I bricked my V3. I have followed all the steps to revive it and now have the bootloader screen 7.0D where I can flash in MP's etc.

I know before I flash the MP's & BL 8.23, I need to re-instate my PDS backup. However, the only backup I have is the Full backup made by Flash Backup. How do I extract my PDS from that full backup?

Hello. I have a question for you if you don’t respond that ok. I have searched this forum and others for an answer.
I’ve downgraded my v3 bootloader to 07d0 by Scotty’s to unlock my phone. Ran MotoPhoenix_1.36.exe. Everything was fine. Started the bootloader to reload 8.26 but in the middle of the upload the phone was knocked off the table and battery fell out. The computer now says "USB device unrecognized" my other v3 works fine. The pds was not backed up, my bad. When I plug in the USB cable the light comes on and goes out with no response. (I know there is no screen in bootloader 07d0) and (did the *+#+power. that started the bootloader and that’s where I began to load 8.26 bootloader) then the phone fell and out came the battery. I think my phone is really dead thanks if there is any reply

johnnybegoodrn5. What happens when you try and flash BL8.26 again? Have you tired running scottys downgrader again? Just to the *+#+power and try and load the 8.26 BL or run the downgrader again. And I don't think you need to flash to BL8.26. Everything should still run ok on 07D0.

my phones SW was "R474_G_08.48.90R_01" before and then i tried flashing my phone w/ this "TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.72R_LP0032_JPJAVA_G_0B_TRIPLET_04 _05R_SE6424AXXT11D4_1FF.shx." the phone shut off itself after the flash was successful, but now i can't even turn it back on anymore. i tried the "* # power button" combo, but nothing happens, it's as if the phone is completely dead. but one weird thing, though, when i have my phone plugged into my computer and hold the power button for about 2 seconds, my pc will recognize it as a "USB unrecognized device" and it'll suddenly dissappear. does this mean there is still hope to revive my phone?

Hi I have a v600 with the following problem:

Both my inner and outer screens are blank.
I can flash / flex my phone no problem.

Is there a way I can fix this problem? It it inside the phone, perhaps a wire is loose? At times the screen will pop back on but when opening and closing the flap its gone again.

Ahh I followed these steps for my v3i and got into my bootloader. Then I tried to reflash it with a monster pack with RSD Lite 2.5. At the end of the procedure it would tell me to "manually power up this phone" and when i try, the phone goes on for 1/2 a second and turns off. Please help! I am trying to reflash it with monster pack:

Edit: Now I am trying the R47A_G_08.D8.35R.sbf becuz my phone was originally iTunes. I hope it works!

I have the same issue, and same 'original' software "R47A_G_08.D8.35R" was on my phone before I hosed it. Finally got my phone into bootloader mode which now reads "Bootloader 0A.30 SW Version R47A_G_08.D8.35R OK to Program Connect USB Data Cable."

Thing is I can't find a version of the software that is not corrupt "R47A_G_08.D8.35R". Can you PM me with where you found yours? I know about the version on motox.net, but that is the one that ruined my phone initially, I think it is corrupt.

Having just gone through a process that I though bricked my V3i, let me point out a couple things that I haven't seen mentioned too often but I found important:

1) If your phone is stuck on the black "bootloader" screen - it doesn't charge the battery -- so if you leave it and plugged into the outlet with the battery in - nothing is happening. Either charge it in another phone or go to Best Buy and get the $29 charger with the slot to charge the spare.

2) If your phone is barely lighting up, not powering on, make sure you don't have a dead battery.

3) If all else fails - switch the cable on your USB ports. I had mine plugged into a hub from the front of my Dell. As soon as I unplugged it and put it into one of the rear USB ports everything got lots better and the phone was able to be accessed.

This seems to be the most helpful forum, so I'm posting a "smartphone" question here if it's ok with everyone.
I have an MPx200 that is locked to ATT & needs to be reflashed. Motomodders.net has firmware for it - but it never downloads for me. Craps out at about 13%.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Can it be unlocked, too? Without buying a Smartclip?

hmm, charge your battery. get someone to charge it for you. you can't do nothin without a battery bro.....also your phones not "dead" if it will go into BL mode.

No, it definitely was the file from motox. I used another that was linked in one of these forums from a german site which worked without incident.

I have an old E398 that had a R372_G_0E.20.56R firmware (which i didn't make a backup of

i tried putting on a R373 MP and it wouldn't turn on. i got into bootloader and it was picked up by RSD Lite. once there, i tried reflashing it with several MPs including a 34R and a 9CR.

I tried flashing my Moto V360 usin MFF and it said flash failed. Then in the boot loader it said ' Code Currupt '

It keeps saying fail on MFF and in Randoms FBackup it says something about the PDS.

My phone is locked to Telstra Australia, would this have anything to do with me not being able to reflash it?

How can i revive it?

I try flashing anything onto my phone with RSD and this message comes up after it starts to erase the phone and flash it.

Failed Flashing process. Error flashing subscriber unit. Device API Error: 0xE0030006 Address: 0x100A80C8 Command: ADDR (0xE0231006)

The phone goes into SW Update mode though.

u r trying to flash something that shouldn't be on the phone. make sure its the correct platform (ex: if ur E398 was stock R372, then u should only be flashing R372 MPs on and not R373 even though it may say E398)

I am having a weird problem, because I am able to go into Boot Loader, then flash any 373 MP, and then the phone would turn on correctly. Then if I restart or turn it off for some reason, it won't turn back on: it displays the custom Start Up screen, then shut down and start with the white screen blinking.

Could this be some problem with the Cust_StartUp sound? Or image? So far, I am keeping my phone on all the time, but what if I randomly run out of battery? I'd have to go to my computer and reflash everytime. Ugh.

Any ideas on what to try? I haven't found any monster flash for e398. Is there a way to roll back to a R372? I have tried to flash a 372 MP but i doesn't work anymore...

U can't rollback to a R372 without a full backup. wut u should do however is flash with 42_for_all. this should make ur E398 R373 compatible.

hi could anyone give me step by step intructions on how to restore my razor v3 Whilst flashing, everything seemed to be going fine no problems at all and the flash finished successfully. The phone turned off after like it should but when i attempted to turn it back on, the keypad turned blue and was responding but the screen was still blank. I then attatched the USB cable to the phone so that it might show wether it was working or not, however i recieved a small message in a bubble at the bottom right of my screen saying "USB Device connected to this PC has malfunctioned."

I then tried to go into bootloader mode by pressing the power # and * buttons at the same time, again the keypad responded but the screen stayed blank and again i tried to go into multifashflex to see if the phone was in bootloader mode. But to no avail the same malfunctioning message appeared. all i want is to get my phone to its normall working self how do i get the ramldr and how to use it i have tried to find it with no luck any help will be most useful

Sounds bad mate, my phone will go into bootloader mode but whenever i try flash anything it comes up with error msgs, and only 2 programs will make it go into SW UPGRADE screen but the programs say that the flash failed... so yeh, i still havent got a reply to my problem and i still havent found a solution... Your problem sounds worse than mine... just keep posting and hopefully you will find a solution.

Here's an interesting find for anyone who may come across the same problem.

I was flashing my v360 back to a stock Moto ABR flash when all of a sudden for no apparent reason it stopped at 17%. Gave me this error: "Error flashing subscriber unit. Device API Error: 0xE0030006 Address: 0x105CA0C8 Command: ADDR (0xE0231006)" every time I tried. And I tried the other MP's I had as well.

I was confused by this as I've never had any trouble flashing it before (it's like the 10th time I was flashing that MP) and no matter what I tried, no luck. So I go ahead and install PST and try using both PST (which told me I only had code group 0 and 1 on my phone) and MFF to flash it with no luck.

I had followed some instructions on making a backup with RAMldr (just needs a R4513 loader which I don't have the link to handy, forget the person's name over at XtremeModderZ (sorry!)) since FlashBackup consistantly locks up on me. So I tried using RAMldr to put the file back on, which didn't work either. In fact, it went and gave me a no mem_map error after attempting that.

But after trying to flash with RSD again, which once again failed at 17%, it at least got rid of that message. So I grabbed a copy of FlashBackup 2.55 and figured what the heck, I've tried flashing with everything else. So I tell it to flash with the stock moto flash and it gives me an error sending loader. So I get to thinking, it's probabally trying to send a loader differant than my v360's or to the wrong place.

Since FB poped up a dialog telling me to make sure my PDS was valid before continueing, I decided to try something and loaded RAMldr back up while FB was still running and sent my R4513 ldr.bin to the phone. I then went back to FB and hit ok.

FB tells me Erasing and I go from the weird screen that RAMldr shows when you send your ldr.bin file to SW Update in Progress, and then FB starts flashing. I kept an eye on it watching the bar go and I was expecting it to fail at any moment. Kept expecting it until it finished writing the Flash to the phone. Still expected that when it finished the whole process that I'd still have a dead phone at the end.

But FB finished and restarted my phone and lo and behold, I'm greated with the French I've come to expect when this MP comes back up.

Don't know if that will help anyone else out. But I figured I'd share as it's not something just anyone would probabally even think of trying. As it is, I didn't think it would work. *lol* And it might work with other model phones, but don't know. Hell, I don't know if it would even work with mine if I tried it again.

Fun thing happened to me last night. I went to flash LP003 onto my phone since I happen to like having US English on my phone. And wouldn't you know it, RSD failed to flash it. I immediately was like, well, doesn't this suck and went to use my combo of RAMldr and FlashBackup to flash it. No go. I can get it to go into SW Updating, but the phone stops responding after a moment or so. Any ideas on what I can do to keep it going?

I fired up PST and it got about 60% of the way through the flash I believe it was before it gave me an error about not being able to write subscriber units to an address, forget which offhand as I didn't save the message. Subsequent attempts haven't made it that far. I'm thinking maybe I need a fresh battery in the phone, so I'll just take mine back outta my girl's since I have hers in my phone from a few days ago when my battery dropped below flashing levels mid-flash.

Should it be telling me my phone is a "Prod Reflash LTE2" in PST? Shows up as normal S Neptune LTE2 in RSD. Was hoping it was gonna say Blank Neptune when I saw PST's display, but no luck there. Still can't flash the RFDI file. Is it possible to testpoint without a smart-clip? Can I flash with PST, MFF, or RSD by test-pointing? I'm willing to try if anyone can give me a definate affermative answer. I haven't tried RadioCom yet, nor the other one who's name eludes me, wanna say MSS or something along those lines, gonna have to try and find my archive CD of programs, think I have an older version of it that probabally won't work with a v360.

Any other suggestions on what I can do to get it to flash? RSD doesn't even attempt to flash anymore, it just creates the image and then tells me flash failed unable to flash. If I need to, I can go see what the exact error code is.

I have a feeling a test-point is the only way I'll be able to save this phone, but if it requires a smart-clip to do so, I think my phone is SOL cuz I ain't got the money for one of those unless there's anyone here in the Johnstown/Altoona area of PA on HoFo with one? *lol*

There's the post about it instead of linking directly to the file. Gives the guy credit and saves me from having to give you the memory addresses as you only have to scroll up the page to his earlier post with the v360's memory addresses.

does any1 know how to force boot an A1000? i left mine untoched for roughly a year and now it doesn't turn on. when i put it on the charger, the lights go on for about a sec and turn off. thanks

Here's everything I've tried so far as far as I can recall. Anyone have any ideas? Or am I just not going to be able to recover this phone?

Well, here goes. I can't give exact details as to how I got to the point I am at now as I started this process yesterday when I first foobar'ed my v360.

Here's the details I have for my phone:
v360
BL 08.A0
R4513_G_08.B7.ABR
(Code Corrupt alternating with BLANK_MEM depending on what I've done to try and recover it)
Full Battery
A half dozen flash files and an RFDI flash (that I can't flash)

How I got here:
Decided to check out Yuet's update.
Noticed how to make a backup with RAMldr on the page with the download link.
Made a backup with RAMldr since the latest FlashBackup consitantly locks up on me.
(Found the previous version and downloaded it as well)
Flashed v1.0 to my phone.
Flashed v1.1 to my phone.
Looked around and decided as nice as it was, there was too much to seem edit out to suit my tastes compared to seem editing from stock to what I think I'd like best. (No offense Yuet, you're pack is pretty damn nice, I just am a bit more simplistic I suppose, plus I'd rather start from stock for designing my own MP)
Went to flash back to stock moto ABR.
RSD died at 17%.

Retried flashing with RSD as I've accidentally interupted the process before on my v360 and been able to flash successifuly afterwards.
Died at 17% again.
Attempted 2 more times, both dieing at 17%.
Install PST.
Attempt flashing with PST and MFF.
Both fail.
Decide what the heck and fire up FlashBackup 2.5 (that I downloaded earlier)
Go to flash the stock ABR flash.
Fail on sending bootloader.
Get prompted with a box making sure my PDS is valid before continueing.
Get the bright idea while it's paused here to fire up RAMldr and send my ldr file to the phone.
After sending the ldr to the phone, clicked OK in Flash Backup.
Watch it slowly flash the entire file to the phone.
Phone reboots.
I'm greated by the French (I think) that the LP is defaulted to on the ABR flash.
Success!
I then do some dancing and celebrating and such as this took me probabally 4 hours till I finally managed to revive it. (I tried just about every other flashing program before attempting that.)

About a half hour later I decide to go ahead and flash my LP003 to the phone so I can get back to US English.

RSD fails. (Forget how far it made it, think around 20% or so, but judging that I am consistantly erroring out at 31%, it was probabally at 31%)
I attempt my FlashBackup/RAMldr method of flashing my phone.
No luck
Tried restoring my backup with RAMldr, no luck.
I'd try converting it to an SHX, but both SHXCoDec 2.66 and 2.65 (only 2 versions I have) don't create valid flash files or something. I've yet to be able to create a file that didn't have a jump error for my v360 since before I bricked it. (Not sure about any other models, suppose I could give my v300 a try.) (I can't even split an SHX file and then recompile it error free.)

I'm almost ready to test-point if I knew I could recover somehow.

I'm basically looking for ideas on what to try to recover my phone. Any helpful ideas are greatly appreciated. As I mentioned, I do have my PDS backup and a full backup from RAMldr if anyone knows how the hell I can manage to get my full backup back on my phone.

RAMldr will give me an ERASE OK status, but then it doesn't display anything when I try writing data to the phone. But I can successfuly read from the phone. (I created a backup file of my foobar'ed phone actually.

I'm about to go look at all the 0's just for fun.)

PST recognizes my phone as a Prod Reflash LTE2 and RSD says S Neptune LTE2, so it doesn't need an RFID image flashed to it (though it's not blank and can't have it flashed, though it did say it was a blank neptune at one point but something I did apparently recovered it from that state.)

If I get it back to a Blank Neptune state, I just flash the RFID correct? Any way of foobaring my phone more to make it blank neptune?

Never done a test-point, and actually finding information on what all that entails is a bit of a PITA, though from what I understand it's just grounding a pin or 2 on your phone to somehow bypass the flash or something at which point you need a smart clip or something similar to flash your phone? Any way of doing this without a smart clip?

I also have a version of RadioCom here somewhere I think if that would work? If I don't I'm sure I could prolly find it if anyone thinks that would help.

My brain is pretty much fried between this and stuff at work and some other projects I've got going in my head.

Well, thanks to Yuet for suggesting trying to flash 58R. Found a copy of 56R faster though, so I flashed that and it was successful. I'm thinking my flash files might be corrupted somehow, so I'm in the process of re-downloading them all. I'm hoping that's the issue because if it isn't, I'm stuck running 56R

I have tried to flash it using the technique you used with Flas Backup, and it does start to flash, it flashes for about a minute, so lets say about 10-15% and than it ses the phone disconnects... but the screen on the phone still ses SW UPGRADE... and thats as far as it goes... i have tried it 4 or 5 times now... i havent had any luck with this phone...

I didn't read the whole thread, but I have some advice and I'm not sure if it has been covered or not. I messed up my brand new E815 pretty bad, so bad that all it would do is display the splash startup screen, reboot, and do this over and over. Nothing I would try would get it to reconnect to the PC so I could reflash it and fix it. I thought it was toast. "#" + "*" + Power button didn't do anything either.

Then I came across some info for a V710 stating that if you short pins 13 and 14 on the serial connector when you hook up your USB cable that it will force the phone into bootloader mode regardless of if the phone will respond to any other input. Sure enought, I wrapped the appropriate pins on my cable with some very thin copper wire from an old headset, and as soon as I pressed the power button the bootloader fired up and the PC connected to the phone.

recently my e398 started freezing on the main screen, as in my keypad buttons dont work nor do the joystick or the "accept/reject" call buttons. somoene told me to flash it with the latest firmware, and i think i did it correctly, but my phone is still in the same situation, is there anything i can do?

Hi all,

I bought a T-mobile SDA. And unlocked it successfully to use with Rogers AT&T in Canada usign the info from this website.

Now then I tried to upgrade it ro i-mate sp5m rom found on the clubmate ftp folder. at 87% it failed causign a blue screen of death on my Windows XP machine. The machine rebooted. The phone screen was stuck so I did battery in and out. Then I got the blue, green and red screen. I did not take a backup on the mini SD before trying this upgrade.

At this point, without doing much research, i used IU_SPL+PatchedRUU.zip found from this site. It did a successful upgrade. But the only thing I now get it the white screen when i turn on my SDA.

Help please. I do not know what else to do now.

i think i have successfully killed my v550 i accidentally flashed it with the firmware for the v551 and also in th process it was flashed with firmware from th v3 all due to the flashes being placed in the wrong folders.

the bootloader was updated in the process and i was unable to install anythin else cause it kept givin me a jump failure in rsd lite.

finally i downgraded th bootloader as a last resort and now there is nothin @ all on the phone.

if i continuously tap th power on button while holding "#" + "*" th screen sometimes flickers and th windows message comes up with unknown usb device. but however doesn't last very long.

is there anythin that can me done or do i have to buy a new phone. thank you in advance anyone.

Your BootlLoader File is corrupted.
You will need to use Flashbackup 2.62 , read and save a good Bootloader file
from a good V3 phone. Then connect your damaged V3 to Flashback, do the
bootloader startup ( * + # + power on), of cause you will not have display on
the LCD screen, but on the program it is indicated connected.

Load the good Bootloader onto the damaged V3.
Viola, your bootloader is alive again.

HELP!!!!

Sorry, i overwrite the mma_ucp file, when installing the ID-Tox Theme dowloaded from MotoModders.com, when i restarted the phone (RAZR V3, yep!, the simple one) to see the theme changes, the phone crashed. It hangs in the HELLOMOTO image forever and it doesn't get started at all (the only way to turn it off is taking out the battery!). I was using P2KTools, and the
program got stuck tryng to connect back to the phone (it didn't respond)

All i did was:

Set the phone skin to Moto.

Renamed the theme files with the Silver word (so i can replace the silver theme and get the theme installed without flexing or flashing anything)

Uploaded the theme files, 690 Kb in 16 files

Replaced the mma_ucp file with the mma_ucp theme file (after first backing up the old one, of course)

Restarted the phone using the Restart option in P2KTools

I have removed the SIM card and restarted the phone, and it still gets stuck in the main image.

I haven't tested the battery charger yet (i don't have one at hand right now) but if the phone ignores the cable connection, i have my doubts about this one.

Lately I've used the Moto Repair Studio Demo Version, and started the boot loader pressing *, # and ON at the same time. In the program i've searched the V3 model and pressed "Repair", the program says:

Phone found
Flash mode ok
Exec loader failed
Erasing phone, please wait...
Erase fail

P2Ktools neither p2kman connects to it... P2KCommander tries to connect but the program crashes reading the file system...

PLEEAASEEE!!!, Heeeeelp!!!,

i'm begining to think it can't be helped!

Got the V3c into the "Bootloader USB INIT" mode and can see the phone from MultiFlashFlex. So now the Monser Pack. Found some online but they're identified by the bootloader number such as BOOT0681, for instance.

Will any of these do or will using the wrong Monster pack make the phone unusable? Thanks for the guidance that started this thread, good info.

BAh,just use a dead flash cable that has a charger jack on the side of it ,plug charger in there,take the main board out and unplug the flex cable.connect it to the dead flash cable,if it does not connect then the phones is toast

Ok some how I have lost my bootloader , its a v3, I just read all 18 pages of this thread , yes i tried it all and nothing. Here is whats going on
I cannot put the phone in bootloader mode, the keypad lights just stay on, flashback up 2.62 does however see the phone, OK now i have tried to reflash, nothing I have to
do a PDS restore nothing, I have trid a bootloader restore nothing. My wife has the same version of a v3 I have full back ups of PDS, BL and full , yet i can not get this phone to take any program. I have tried every program that had been suggested here, I did find a great maybe ..BUT I can not get the program to work (SHXCoDec 2.65 ).

So in a nut shell my phone is dead right now, any of you old time modders have any suggestions, as i said the phone does not appear to go in *# power mode but som programs do see it??

Yes I have the exact same problem but my computer doesn't recognize the usb driver. So, can't use the FlashBackup program to reflash.

ok try this when you PC is telling you it is not reconnized unplug the USB cable to the phone, and try *# + power , see what happens

Damn man, my phone (Motorola E398) is stuffed. I flashed an MP (Moto_Stralin) onto my phone using Flash Backup and everything went all right, but when I tried to flash my phone back to Starter XP MP using Flash Backup again, the whole phone went blank. Now when I check my phone using RSD Lite it says:
ESN: N / A
Technology: N / A
Software Version: N / A
Flex Version: N / A
Bootloader Version: N / A
DRM Version: N / A
When I turn my phone on in both normal mode and bootloader, the screen is absolutly blank (there is absolutly NOTHING on the screen, just like if the phone was off), and the whole phone seems dead (e.g. the keypad lights don't turn on either), but when I connect my phone to my PC, and start Flash Backup or RSD Lite or RamDLD, it says the phone is detected. Then when I try to backup a previous Backup using Flash Backup, I click the Restore button and then it says 'Sending loader failed! (May be already sent). Before continue, check is your PDS backup valid. Continue?', so I click Continue, then the bar comes up saying 'Erasing Memory (this process doesn't show)', and then it goes onto another bar saying 'Restoring Backup', then the bar is filled and then it says 'Restoring Backup.......failed!', then 'Shutdown Phone'. I even tried using RamDLD and RSD Lite, but they both had pretty much the same error. Can someone please help me with getting my phone back?

this isn't going to help, but i did the same thing to my v300. it is detected, but the screen is blank. i spent about 2 weeks trying to get it to work but to no avail. it was bricked.
im not sure but maybe someone with a smartclip could help.

testpoint. there is corruption in the firmware, causing the checksums to be incorrect. if you have a backup, its the easiest way.

I have a similar problem to Ikanriu from a month ago, but did not see any definitive answer to his problem. This appears to be a little less fatal, so perhaps someone could suggest a solution that doesn't involve the words "Flash" or "BootLoader."

I got a V3M last week and have simply added a few custom pictures and tunes to it. No flashing and only one or two seem edits (which I have since undone with a backup.seem file.) Everything was going great until I added a theme and mma_dcp/ucp files from an unbranding pack I found. Had no idea I could get in so much trouble....

With P2k Commander I replaced the mma_ files and restarted... nothing much changed. Later in the day I added a skin. (Happened to be named Moto, as the Verizon image did not include a Moto skin, only 'Blue, Business, Default, Tropical') In the phone menu I switched over to the new Moto skin and although the colors changed correctly now every time I press the Menu button the screen flashes white for one second then the phone hangs for another 10 seconds while it does a soft reset (phone stays on, but signal connection goes away then comes back.)

The phone still operates just like normal (works: rings, makes calles, phonebook, proper ring tones, etc) I just can't push the Menu button.

I assume this is some kind of bad button mapping - perhaps from using a V3C skin on my V3M - but I can't get into the Menu to change the theme back. I have tried every combination of replacing the mma_ files from backup, removing the new Moto skin folder, renaming the Default.dat and .ski files to Moto.dat and Moto.ski and placing them in the new Moto folder, etc... Something else, some other file must have been overwritten that I don't know to change/remove/replace.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to doing some sort of Hard Reset to get it back to the Default theme or how to change the theme from OUTSIDE of the phone?

Any thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all,
My Motorola V535 stopped working properly recently so I attempted to reflash to fix the problem (text input froze the phone; it seemed like a software problem so I hoped to fix it). After reading up for a while, I tried flashing with a pack, but screwed it up, obviously didn't read enough. I used RSD Lite to flash an R374 file rather than and R376.
Phone is now dead, will not boot.
I can get it into something I suspect might be boot mode (white screen) only when it is plugged into the power, by pressing * and #. Off doesn't help.

The PC does not detect it, b ecause the minute I remove the power cable to put in the USB one; it dies.

I remember charging my battery before, so I would have thought it's not a battery problem, but I'll try that; once I can find someone with the same phone as me to lend me a battery. Does it sound like I'm on the right track here? Then I can plug it in, reflash it with a R376 file I've got hopefully.

I was trying to get my my phone to stop saying contact service provider and accidently totally bricked it. So I reflashed with a few different flashes, and it would show the boot screen and it wouldn't go any farther. In the proscess of trying to fix the brick factor, I accidently flashed it with an R368 flash instead of an R364 or R365 and now it's stuck in flash mode. I have tried reflashing with various flashes mostly R365 and a few R364s. It says flash successful, but yet when I turn it back on it's still in flash mode with an R368 SW version.

Is there anything i can do to fix this?

Hi, I'm in need of a lot of HELP! I unlocked my black Cingular RaZr V3 yesterday and I have a custom font, custwakeup + custgoodbye, DRM set, etc.

But today I tried to install a DRM set onto my friends pink Cingular RaZr v3, it FAILED and now when the phone starts up, all it does is sit at the Cingular Welcome Screen...?

I see the splash screen and the wakeup screen, but it won't ... boot into the phone, I guess I could say.

I tried pressing "power" + "*" + "#" by itself, connected via USB... it won't go into the boot screen. If I plug the phone in USB before I start it, then turn it on, my PC will say it's connected... but when I try to flash it, it can't boot into flash mode...

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I was trying to unlock my V3 razr with the downgrader_v2 and motorolla unlocker software. But i accidently clicked on p2kman while it was downgrading and I think this is what caused it to fail. Now the keypad only lights up but screen stays black. The phone is still detected when plugged into to computer, the downgrader just exits out now if I try that, but the unlocker says it found the fone and says Done after unlocking. I tried to flash it with a monster pack and Flashbackup as well as RSD lite but I get error messages and it fails..

Is there anything I can do to try to bring this back to life????? plz any info is appreciated

when i try to flash my phone with a monsterpack it says make sure PDS backup valid continue? and when I click continue it freezes. So I made a backup of the PDS and when i try to restore the PDS backup it just freezes when it's "Sending loader please wait"

Is there anything else I can try to fix this? Maybe use the PDS seem editor? because I still seem to have access to that!

This CAN be fixed though. You must take the phone and put it into bootloader mode. It varies on each phone how you do it, but holding * and # and then power is the most common way. If your phone wont even power on, then it may take some time to get it to turn on. Took me 3 days once. I did find that by plugging it into the USB port while attempting bootloader helped later on speed that process up.

Now your phone is on in flash interface. You should plug it in and your phone should be attached as a Neptune Flash Interface (or whatever type of phone yours is).

You will then need to use a moster flash to recover it. A monster flash is a flash that includes both a flash file and a flex. These are fairly common. I have no links but there are some on my fserv in the irc channel in my sig.

Make sure you find an unlocked one. I don't know all of the possible locked/unlocked ones, so that's up to you.

Some people have managed to flash their phone and flex it seperatly using the flash interface and the se....f9.shx flex, but I haven't had any luck with that.

Flash using MultiFlashFlex.exe included with PST, and your good to go.

Unless I missed something, I probably wont help you recover your phone. This DOES work, I've tested it several times with several phones using several flashes to mess them up.

Used fixing a brick guide can't remember where I got it I know the file is fixthebrick.zip Google it.

Ramloader with all the files recommended from Mr Bucket in the fixthebrick.zip.

Flashbackup(thank god I backed it up before I started modding)

RSD Lite 2.6
Had to erase it all and start from scratch bootloader and all.

If you ever get the damn thing back up back up everything in Ramloader.
Found original backup
had to reconnect the phone after starting Flash Backup to get it to see it.

It is finally back after about 6 hours of busting my chops!
All for a bad DRM flash!!! GGGRRR! good luck.

i downgraded my v188 from r365 to r364 to unlock it useing pst everything went fine then went to up grade it back to r365 instead hit wrong file didnt catch it so it flashed a r368 when i booted it fine just no screen now it boots straight to the boot loadr screen tryed time after time to reflash to origianl r365 with pst and even tryed rsd lite they both say "flash succesful " tryed monster packs downloaded from here but nothing i turn my phone on it goes straight to flash mode with that s/w/ version 368 cant get it to over write it some one please help me

Not sure if this would be considered a possible fix, but..

My SLVR L7 appeared to be dead after I tried saving a SEEM from the handset to my PC. It wouldn't turn on at all, or enter into bootloader mode while pressing the *, #, and then the power button. Freaked out a little bit, then removed the battery and microSD card.. reinserted the battery, and the handset was then able to power on again.

Was able to get iTunes installed previously, but think I'll stop f'ing around with the phone until it's possible to back everything up first =)

Guys,when I tried to flash my E398 with MP , my phones dead. My MMF 1.8 error when in the middle of the process. I tried pressing "power" + "*" + "#" by itself, connected via USB... it won't go into the boot screen.

I acquired a Motorola V3i and was sent a Dolce & Gabana rebadge pack..

I used RSD Lite 2.5 to perform the functions..

The debranding kit was R479_G_08.B4.34R_PDS005_LP0039_DDM0101_VSTGER_JPJA VA_G_08_V3i_06_00_03R_SE7721AXXF1055_1FF_MOTOX.shx

Once I manually rebooted I installed the V3i D&G Brand kit being
R479_G_08.B4.34R_PDS005_LP0039_DRM0101_VSTITALIAN2 06_JPJAVA_G_08_V3i_06_00_04R_SE7984AXXXH1055_1FF.s bf

It did not work and left me with a phone that can only go into the flash utility by using the * # power sequence..

The boatloader is SW.0A.30
R47A_G_08_D8_3_5R

no matter what I flash with nothing works, meaning that it powers on.off and nothing else..

Can someone tell me where and what I need to do to get my phone to work.

if i push the 3 buttons for bootloader 3sec later u hear a small vibration and then it's gone nothing happens

i had 2 flashes they worked great i wish i never tried another one

YOuhave flashed the none itune flash to a itune V3i, you need to do test point then repairthe PDS then flash it with w full flahs of R47A to get it to work again.
To be successfully repair PDS you need to have smart clip or ultima box

I've been messing with my V600 for about 2 months after reading almost all the posts here and still can't get it to work. When I conect the phone to the computer its it showing conected S Flash Neptune LTE in MFF and I tried to flash it with few monster packs but it just says "flash FAILED" and thats all I'm getting. If anybody knows what should I do to get the phone to work please let me know because I'm really loosing my patience with this stuff. Thanks!!!

Have you done anything to it prior to this?
It could be that driver was not install correctly too

i believe someone around here had some way of creating a pds with some program and were willing to do it for a couple bucks...it may be earlier in this thread or another one.... don't remember, but look around... i can send you a full backup from one of my phones, you can flash it using ramdlr, then flash the new pds where it goes using the same program and it should work

I tried repairing PDS with ramlrd but it just shows up error, I found a guy here that creates PDS and you just provide him IMEI number but he charges $20 bucks, its not about money for me, $20 bucks is nothing but its just that I've been working on it for few weeks constantly and I don't want to give up easily. So I'm still looking for a program that can create or rebuild my PDS.

With the Triplet series if you can find the image file then you can use repstudio to rebuild the PDS. I read about it while back but never try cause i got smart clip that will do that for me!!

monstera4, try using the ramdlr backup guide for the v600 and do a full backup, then you can try flashing my backup to your phone and then try and flash the pds from your new backup to your phone(it should over-write just the pds part) and see if that works.... so if you can get to your boot loader you should try and use ramdlr to make a backup of your non-working phone

So what you are saying is to backup my good phone and then flash it with your backup and then flash it with my backup that I did in the begining? You really got me confused!

what you need to do is:
#1- try and backup your bad phone(this is hoping that the pds is not damaged)
#2- then either use a backup from your good phone(or mine) and flash your bad phone with the working phones backup....
#3- then flash your bad phone with it's own PDS section(just the pds, that should rewrite your own pds to your phone)
#4- hopefully it will work now....
at least i was able to do this with one of my v600s that kind of went out for no reason

your PDS must be corrupt then... the only way to fix it is to find someone who can either build you a PDS using your IMEI # or someone with a smart clip or the like that can repair a PDS... sorry

yea I know, actually I didn't try to modify the phone I was just going to unlock it and I found Flashbackup and there was a button that says unlock and I clicked on it and the phone just went dead and since then it haven't been working..... but anyway, thanks for all the help and suggestions at least I learned alot about motorola phones....

Well I am all new to this, I was given 2 V551 phones, cingular, one powered on with no problems and I managed to do a sim unlock on it, Great

But the second phone does not power up, well I guess it does but no display or lights of any kind and my computer says unknown device so I guess it is powering up but thats about it. I have no history on this phone at all, what are the chances of me recoving this and if there is any what route to take or is this just a keep trying to get it into flash mode and put the bootloader 07d0 or whatever it is on it and then go from there? Again to the U6 and newest models, in case we DON'T HAVE the Smart-Clip, but we do want to Mod these phones or un**ck it, the procedure is to (I guess)

1 - Connect the testpoint and connect the phone to SmartMoto
2 - ???? Downgrade the BootLoader
3 - ??? Do all the MOdding / flashing
4 - ??? Done

I'm so confused on these new techniques, I don't see'em clear anywhere without mentioning the smart-clip

Also, very important, will Test Pointing the phone ERASE all the phone memory ? including BL, PDS? or it will just remove the Protection temporarily until phone is restarted ?

When you do testpoint it will give you direct access to the flash chip ( by pass verything).
To recove a brick fone with out smart clip or ultima box or mss or set tool and few others special tools you have to have full back up or at least PDS back up of your fone.
Because you need to repair the PDS !!!!

Smart moto need to have smart clip to do this type of repair

Hagan My objective right now is not to revive a broke phone, it's to be able to mod a working one, it's a v190 with BL 08D0.

It's open already and I'm just looking at the test point, but I'm not sure what's the next point.

I don't know how to make a fullbackup of this phone, Flash Backup3 doesn't support to make the fullbackup because of the BL version and its RSA security, etc.

Can you point me in the right direction, I will not touch the phone until you tell me what to do exactly.

your only hope to get this done is to fine P2k Easy tool 3.7 ( it's warez) Do test point then use it to repair the PDS ( hope that it will work!!!) then flash it the the correct MP for this model.
What do you have to lose?? if your fone is dead already.

I have a problem with a V360v phone, Bootloader 08.D0.

I did a testpoint and unlocked the phone, now, it accepts any simcard, but the phone eventually Restart, it constantly restarts after power Up, no matter if I put or not a simcard it just restarts seconds or a minute after it completely boots.

Anyone has experienced this ?

In bootloader mode it doesn't restart, just works.

how did you cut the shield, open it up, use air hose to blow off any metal dust might have been there, and check all flex able connection, if still not work try to reflash it with MP, let hope you have not damage hardware at test point

Hagan, it looks like I damaged the phone

The shield metal was this time stronger than for the latest phone I did testpoint, I took it in a corner and lift it up comnpletely, but, it seems I damaged a vry small component in the board.

the phone started powering and booting fine and then It restarted.
about 20 minutes later from this behaviour the phone started just to lit the keyboard with the black screen and going off again.

And it has remain that behaviour now.

It stills work on Boot Loader

I restored the PDS (with testpoint) , and reUnlocked the phone again, and nothing , it does the same.

I'm downloading a monster Pack from someone named Yuet, v2.0 do you know it ? let's see how it goes with it, Or should I get V1.7 of the Yuet MP ?

one note to take from this.
Get a dremel to drill a hole to test point will make your life much easier.
RF shielding metal sheet is there for a reason.
IT's ther to prevent the RF (radio frequency ) to bounce back to componaces to enterferred and creat heat so by remove a large chunk of it you will encounter this problem too.

Well, the must sucky part in this scenario, is that I'm not sure if the problem is caused by the hardware piece I broke (about 1mm[or less] wide by 3mm large) or if it's a software problem and I don't know where to start if just trowh the phone and pay my friend the cost of it, or spending hours trying to solve the problem with flashed and moddings.

I just tried reflashing my Motorola Razr V3, didn't work out too well

Cant figuire out how to fix it.
I think its officially considered to be a paperweight.

I cant turn it on or off. The only thing it does is light up the keypad when I put the battery in. Get get into the Boot Menu

Tried all of the recovery software, these are the warnings I get. My computer still detects the phone when I connect it via USB CABLE. But it wont let me do anything.

Ok, look in the forums for the scotty Bootloader Downgrade version 2, apply it to your phone in Boot Loader mode (* # PWR).

Then Find a Monster Pack for the V3, and flash it to the phone, your phone should be back to life.

Attempting to flash a monsterpack before downgrading the boot loader 0826 is possible that don't work because the Bootloader area is protected and will not allow any software to write to this area.

If your PDS is corrupt, then this is another story, anyways, Downgrade your BL with the scotty2 method, after this, any modding and work with that V3 will be easier.

Hi Hagan

The V360 problem is now solved.

I downloaded a full monster Pack and applied it to the phone, the phone powered up again until stand-by screen, but it continued to hang and reboot.

I had to apply some soldering to the piece I accidentally broke from the phone and put it again on its place, a task really hard to do, because this component had lost its pins, so I had to put some extran thin and small wires to replace the pins, and then put all of this to the board, but after assembling the phone again, bingo, it just works like a new one (almost)

Thanks again for your advices, you gave me the forces to end the task.

i have a question for you, you recommended not to pull the complete metal shield from the board to use the testpoint, insted you adviced me to use something I DIDN"T UNDERSTAND what it's, can you please explain to me what is that artifact or devices you were talking about?

Next time I make a testpoint, I prefer not to lift the complete shield.

Well, did you follow the international modding rules and backed up your pds ? if so, then just restore your PDS with flashbackup, otherwise, you are in serious troubles.

you will have to recreate your PDS, try Repstudio, see if it has a profile for the V3

Hi all! My week old E398 is in coma state, not dead, that's what I believe. I have sent it for services last night. Why? Because I dare not meddle with it any more for the moment. My sin was simple. I have all the modding tools downloaded from the internet, I have some wonderful skins, yes, just skins. I don't fancy Moto's zebra and leopard skins. All went well in the beginning. I like this White-Symbian skin, it's clean and pleasing to the eyes. Worked fine when I P2K the skin into my phone and used it for a couple of days. Then I wondered what use was the mmucp (or something) which has a copy in /a/mobile/system. I supposed its the menu and icons file. So I thought replacing that with the one that came with the skin I already installed might be cool. I did. Phone's dead. It froze on splash screen. Managed to bootload with the magic 3 buttons. Connected to pc via USB. P2K tools said its not connected. Flash tools said the same. Phone explorers said the same. Only P2K commander recognised it as AT device and put it into the P2K mode. But the ap went 'application error'. Drivers problem? Might be, I was too panicked to check the pc device manager. I glanced through this forum to look for postings of similar problems but none was found. Most said after the bootloader the phone should be revived. But not my phone! I'd see if the shop who sold me the phone said if I had void the warranty. I might be at war with them. They sold me 2 year old phone as new.

I need some help with my V3 Razr. I was using RDS Lite to change my flex. I got a fail message so I tried another flex, which also failed. So I removed the phone from the USB cable. THe phone said SW Upgrade in the screen, and wouldn't do anything. So I turned it off. When I went to turn it on, nothing would come up on the screen. The keypade just lite up for a couple of seconds. I've tried the *# power a couple of time, with and without the SIM, and also with the battery removed and then putting it back in. I still don't see anything on the screen, and when I try to connect it to the computer, the PC says it doesn't recognize the USB device (paraphased). Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

I got it fixed. I just had to hold down the power button a little longer. The flex took, I guess with that particular flex the power didn't come on as fast.

GUYS!

i have a problem with a v980M , I tried to unlock it with P@K _Easy tool 3.9, but I used the profile V980M Intel, the fact is, that after some bootloader downgrade, upgrade, etc done by the utility the phone is now dead.

I refflashed the phone with a full monsterPack and it doesn't work, when I try to power it up it just does nothing, only works if I go into Boot Loader mode (* # PWR)
Anybody has idea of what's going on ? Is it the PDS corrupt ? otr it's the boot loader.

I could read from someone in the GSM Server forums that he solved the problem downloading a flash with bootloader from their support section, anyone has heard about this flash ?

The boot loader is 0.6.3.1
the phone is V980M (the sme as v975) it has a 64 MB TYAX Flash,

any advice would be greatly appreciated

I have a Samsung E900 keep going through Samsung Logo Boot Screen and not going anywhere. Was able to re-flash phone but condition remains the same.
Can anybody help??

i have this fone for a month. still no scratches and no fallings. but theres a time that i transferring pictures from my fone to my pc then our power source down (we have a wide blackout) then my pc goes down as well as my fone. i tried to power my fone again but it won't. it just the keypad lights on and off. i took it to the first service center, they said that the FLEX inside the fone is the problem (i didnt believe) so i look for another service center, and they said that my bootloader is corrupted that why it wont startup.. cant the bootloader can be installed again?

anyway, i tried to boot in the bootloader mode but my fone just lights on and off and when i connect it to my pc, i got this message "Unrecognized device".

is it possible to fix this?

please help anyone...

Do you remember the software version of the phone ?

no matter if it just lit when entring boot-loader mode, it's possible it's already in boot-loader mode even if you don't anything in the screen.

it's very probable that you have to make a testpoint to the phone, depending on the software version.

I bricked my V3. I used scotty's BL downgrader and flashed my phone with a cingular unbranded monsterpack. After flashing it just entered the bl screen. I didn't backup the phone before I started modding (duh). I tried the tut http://www.motox.info/showthread.php?t=11727 but I can't get past flashing the rfdi image. I also tried using the PDS retore function on Repair Studio and creating a new PDS using Flash Backup2.62. So, I decided to pick up a Motorola Smart Clip off ebay. I tried to restore the PDS file using SmartMoto and it fails saying that the phone may be locked (which it isn't). I have exhausted all of the ideas that I have. Can anyone else offer some suggestions, or do I give my mother in law a pink V3 paperweight???

By the way, it is a V3 not a V3M like in my sig
