wap.fido.ca on Fido hiptop?

I've been reading conflicting information here and on the hiptop.com forums about whether or not the 1st generation hiptop can view WAP sites.
For me, some work and some don't -- and one of the ones that doesn't is wap.fido.ca 
I can get to the "usage charges may apply" placeholder page, but I don't get the automatic redirect to the content page, instead a link to here:
http://wap.fido.ca/content/controller
And every single time I've clicked on that my hiptop browser times out!
Has anyone else been able to access this page?
