Big Decision Tomorrow

I'm going to a store here in Chicago to buy a Samsung D500. I called them and they also have the TM200 in stock. I'm completely lost as to which phone to buy now. The sharp has the advantages as far as screen, memory and camera. The Samsung is smaller though, as well as cheaper. I really don't know which to buy, I think I'll have to see both of them in person to make my final decision but I wanted to hear peoples input. I haven't seen any pics from the TM200, and I hate the fact that it is branded. If I buy the TM200 and don't like it, I guess I could sell it and get the D500, since the D500 is cheaper. I do have one serious question about the TM200, does it support OBEX transfer?

dont know answer to your question about obex, but the the tm200 is far better on the camera and screen side, and just as good on the phone side of things.

taking a megapixel photo on the d500 has a 3.8 second time lag from pressing the shutter and the photo actually being taken.

the screen is 'muddy' and not very bright or vivid or sharp.

the slide mechanism is not as strong as a flip, and offers less protection against screen scratches etc.

the tm200 has a mem card slot for easy transer too, the d500 doesnt, and it only has 90mb internal mem.

size does not matter, it is good to be able to feel the phone is there.

hope this helps (buy the tm200)

also, if you do buy it, please post your comments, and sample photos you have taken.

The answer is simple...I wouldn't touch anything made by Samsung (or any other Korean company) until they improve their build quality, reliability and parts availability.

At the moment, you still can't beat the Japanese.

I think I'm going to have to wait until I see them because I'm still no closer to a decision

After using both Sharp and Samsung phones......I'll say go with Tm200...they offer the best value for the money and not only that...Samsung is not even close to the camera and screen quality of Sharp phone.

If I like the TM200, then I'm buying it, if I get it and regret it, then I'll just get a M900, otherwise I'm getting the D500. It all depends on how far I can talk him down. I'm not looking to spend $700 tomorrow (technically today)

tm200 definitely.

I went ALL the way up there only to be told he didn't have either phone in stock, which pisses me off because I called him. I guess I'll just order the samsung from B2global and hope I like it

If you like a good camera and screen, you wont like the d500

From the sample pics I've seen, the camera on the D500 is pretty good for a CMOS, its not as good as the other ccd types though (s700, GX32)

I got my TM200 today, i went to the store personally " No-Air-Time " to be exact here in NYC.

First impression of the phone by looking at it was " WOW ", i thought it was bigger than what i saw and is very descent in size.

Screen is simply AMAZING " my first sharp phone ". The camera is impressive, i took some pictures with the plastic over the lense and it still looks impressive, can't wait to snap a shot without it, hehe. The icons dont look that bad and i dont mind the t-mobile branding.

P.S. Is charging now so ill post my review once i discover how it works. Im totally new to the SHARP world.

Oh yeah, i payed $590.00 including tax.

Sorry, i returned the phone and got a Samsung D500. The sharps speakerphone was causing echo in the other parties end. When they fix it " if they ever do " i will definitelly get the TM200 again, loved it but speakerphone is something i need for bussiness purposes but other than that everything else about the phone is simply awesome.

Check this picture " the plastic was still over the lense ".
