I just added some polyphonic ringtones, wallpapers and one mp3 ringtone to my SE47 Slider. It all worked fine until I turned off the phone. Now it won't turn back on, it keeps giving me the error:

Does anyone know how to fix it? Or does anyone know how to reset the phone? PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! I really appreciate anyone who could help to fix it!!

try taking it to your provider to get a replacement. hopefully they'll cover it

you have probably overloaded the memory and/or overwritten important bootloading programming code....your phone is has automatically entered "download mode" where it can be reprogrammed (flashed)

you can try doing it yourself but i seriously suggest you replace the phone while you still can. if you try and reflash it, and it fails, they wil not replace your phone because they'll say you broke it or it suffered "liquid damage" or some other excuse....

if you want to reflash it, you will need to find the right programs (se47.exe though it isnt very stable, or unicdma, or other apps) and i would hope you have a charged battery or a data cable that also charges your phone because if it were to die during the few minutes it takes to reflash it, your phone would longer be electronic. it would be a collection of metals and plastics....in any case.....

Thanks... I called VM last night and they said to bring it back to WalMart where I bought it and to tell them its defective and that they will replace it and then just transfer my number to the new phone. ××××! Now I have to find a safe way to get all my ringtones, wallpapers, and that one mp3 on my phone... (It was Vertigo by the way, hehe) About how much memory does the SE47 have?

you are lucky i have killed 2-3 metro sliders that way and they won't replace them SONS O' B*TCHES

O.K..... i'm still a newbe when it comes to this site and the SE 47, but is it really that easy to kill off this phone? What drove me to this phone mostly was it's design. But the last thing I wanna do is kill it while trying to down load from the net.

its not that its easy to kill it, you just have to be careful and follow the directions to download VERY carefully.

right psycho, the best thing to do is be on the safe side....you can definitely put on some mp3s as ringtones, and some pictures as wallpapers...but once you start putting HUGE mp3 files on it or too many mp3s or pictures, or when you try editing your logo bqr files, (read: yes i did that and i'm retarded) ...then you can mess up your phone pretty easily, with the click of your mouse ;P
