Im a little confused with the roaming on analog and digital dual band.
Also is EV-DO really faster on these PDA phones from Verizon?

The Treo 650 is a dual band device, 1900/800, and not analog capable. Your phone will only work where there is a digital signal. The device will try Sprint first and if it cannot find a signal, it'll go to Verizon next. Be warned though, data doesn't work when roaming. Also, the phone will hold on to the weakest Sprint signal even if there is a full Verizon signal.
Theoretically, EV-DO is light speeds ahead of EDGE (GSM) and 1xRTT (CDMA). It has average speeds of 500Kbps with bursts up to 2Mbps. For some people that's close to broadband speeds. In real life, it'll be much less than 2Mbps, but it's a great start!
