KX1 Soho problems with Messaging Menu - please Help

Hi there folks!

I just bought a Soho last December and since last Thursday I've been unable to access the Messaging Menu. It shows a "Updating Messages. Please check later" warning. I've tried removing the batteries to reset the user interface (as per the instructions I read at Kyocera's page for a similar problem with the Contacts menu), but the issue remains.

However, I can still access my messages via the customized menu, so the problem is not overtly serious. Still, it shouldn't be happening at all. I've generally read good user reviews all over the web for this Kyocera phone, but here, where I live, I've heard some people say it's got more than its share of software problems.

I'd like to know whether there's a way to reset or solve this problem, maybe access to a setup menu or something like that (by the way, pressing "111111" doesn't help).

I'd appreciate your input buddies.
