Sidekick SMS Problems

A lot of my text message either don't go through or get delayed by like an hour. This happens to incoming text messages too, and sometimes I'll get an incoming text message 3 or 4 times. I'm using a SDK 2 right now and I had the same problem with my SDK 1. I had like a 2 month period between my sidekicks where I was using another phone, and I had no problems at all with SMS which makes me think its the phones. Does anyone else have these problems?

i had a problem like this too recently.. but its only been recently.. ive had mah sidekick for about a month and havent had any problems with it until like 2 days ago and gettin texts at funny times..

yea when i first got my sidekick things were more or less fine, until like the last week

I had issues with this recently but after talking to my friend who uses ATT he said he got error messages every time he tried to send that said his message could not be sent, so he told it to resend until he didn't get the message anymore. Result: I got 4 copies of his message. I also find that the messages I send him ARE actually going through but are delayed by ATT. I didn't get his replies to me until the next morning. Try enabling the "Request Delivery Report" on the SMS screen. There is also a setting to select this by default. It just gives you a pop up when the message is received by the other end, so it doesn't count as an SMS.

I had the samae problem because I recently purchased the sidekick but it hasn't acted up lately.

I enable the request delivery report sometimes, but a lot of the times I don't get the "popup" until I get a response from the other person. I'm sure this doesn't make too much sense but to me it seems like sometime you have to give it a reason to connect to retrieve the messages. Like a lot of times if an incomming message gets delayed, I'll receive it right after I send another text. Other times I'll get delayed messages while I'm on the phone.

Here's how to troubleshoot SMS on SKs:

put your sim card in another t-mobile phone & see if the same problem occurs. If it does not it is your device
Do A Soft Reset
Do a Hard reset (note: if you do NOT have a Data Plan you will loose all your info)
If all of the above fail call CS and that means the problem is on the carrier's end
