Trouble syncing notes to SMT 5600

Hey all. I got Active sync 3.8 connected to the phone without issue.

I then installed Puma Intellisync 5.3.2 to act as the conduit between the calendar on the phone and my Lotus Notes calendar.

Intellisync seems happy and installed fine on the phone. The problem is that when I set it up to sync my Lotus Notes calendar is blows up on NSD.exe. Anyone seen anything like this?

I think that for some reason it doesn't like my Notes install.

I think I'm going to start by upgrading (clean) to Lotus Notes 6.5.x client and then re-install the Intellisync software if needed.

Don't bother w/ Intellisync.

Go with Commontime's mNotes - it does a MUCH better job of replicating your Lotus Notes data.

Have been using the PocketPC version for years and am now using the Smartphone version. The latter is not as bug free as the PPC version - but still better than Intellisync.

Thanks - I'll give it a shot.

I took a look at it and this product seems to be a full on Notes client for the Smartphone / Pocket PC. While this would work all I really want to be able to do is see my Lotus Notes calendar on my phone wherever I might be (a local copy). Even if it's just like what you'd get on a Palm III, that works for me. Is mNotes overkill for acomplishing this?

Wirelessly posted (AUDIOVOX-SMT5600/Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; Smartphone; 176x220))

It probably is overkill for what you have in mind and it isn´t cheap. you can try it for 2 weeks or so to see for yourself although i´d recommend not sync´ing with outlook in parallel to avoid replicate calendar entries.

For anyone interested, I got this tidbit today:

Quote:
Intellisync Support Please note that Intellisync does not support devices using Windows Mobile Second Edition. This problem could result to any error message or behaviour.

Great. Everyone cheers when Intellisync added Smartphone support and it doesn't work with 'current' phones.

Are there any other syncronization options out there for Lotus notes to a Smart Phone?

Maybe something to sync my Notes calendar to a MS Oulook client installed on my computer. Outlook syncs natively with ActiveSync.

I have been using the Microsoft Outlook connector for Domino mail servers and it works beautifully. I use Outlook as my mail client and I can syncronize my mail, calendar and contacts with my MPX220 no problem.

Excerpt from Microsoft's website:
"Microsoft Office Outlook Connector for IBM Lotus Domino enables you to use Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or Microsoft Outlook 2002 to access your e-mail messages, calendar, address book, and To Do (task) items on an IBM Lotus Domino Release 5.x or Release 6.x server."

Sweet! I should be able to get this set up and forget about it. I'll still use the Notes client (I use the Notes Databases too much not to) but I'll set this up for sync purposes.

Thanks!

Well, I got the Notes connector for Notes configured and it's working the way I want it to.

It isn't the best setup nor is it particualrly intuative..... but it works. Re-occuring meetings don't translate to Outlook at all from the Notes Calendar so I manually created those.

Aside from that, I now have a phone <-> Notes replication process.

1. Open Notes and replicate
2. Close Notes, Open Outlook 2003
3. Sync Outlook with Notes (takes forever).
4. Connect phone and Active sync syncs the phone and the Notes Calendar that Outlook sees.
5. Re-sync Outlook to the Notes calendar.

step 5 gets any appointments entered via the phone back to my Notes calendar.

Thanks, this is a do-able work around until Intellisync gets their stuff together.

I got offered an mNotes license at work last Friday - I might have to take them up on that and check it out.

FWIW, with mNotes, you can easily chose not to replicate the Contacts, Tasks, Mail, Free Time, Books and Journal.

Personally, I only replicate Calendar and Tasks and it works great.
