Not so free web!!!!!!!!!

Just a warning to yall I did the so called "free web" hack to my 8900 and at the end of the month I recieved my bill for $200 due to "Web Access" Maybe you guys should not be so misleading on these posts Beacause $200 is definately not "free" Heres just a partial list

im not sure how we were "misleading".. in almost all of the threads Ive read, it has been said that charges are carrier dependant. I know for a fact verizon doesnt charge you. Maybe you should research things a little more carefully before you jump into them.

ive seen that "#777" on my phone using bitpim. maybe thats got something to do with how they know u were using wap. and did u consider trying out the wap a few times and waiting for bill? u cant blame other people. if they knew it costs money with your carrier im sure it would have been posted.

The ip addres you put in is just the gateway, you need a method to access the net which your provider provides :P

One other question, did you use the web during your free minutes or during ure normal minutes?

The CSP charges me airtimes minutes for the "free" web access too, it doesn't matter if I use their WAP gateway or any other gateway

Well if you will notice all the "OP" and "WE" shows that it was all used on my "free minutes" therefore acording to what some say on here it should have been completely free as during the time frame my minutes were free.
As mau108 said "The ip addres you put in is just the gateway, you need a method to access the net which your provider provides" therefore even though your not using your providers IP your still using thier gateway so they WILL still charge you no if's and or but's about it.

Dont get me wrong Im not mad at the people on here about this issue. I knew I was running a risk of being charged. There is still WAY to much good info on here to run away stomping my feet. Just wanted to post this to warn some others that might try this hack that they to could end up with a $200 bill. But the way I figure it with all the ringtones I have made and put on my phone for "free" i have still saved money compared to buying them. So no hard feelings guys was just simply a warning to others.

not to burst your bubble, but you could have done that with a $20 datacable and some FREE software lol

Burst my bubble? I think i just said there was tons of other info on here including how to get the free ringtones etc which includes having the data cable and free software just to bad i only paid 5 bux for my cable
