Best Software for Making Ringtones

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Ok, firstly, thanks to those who helped me out with my firmware search based on changing the language of my S65. Next question:

What is the best system/software for making ringtones from mp3 files that I already have?

I use my S65 on T-mobile.

I don't mind paying for the software...I just don't really know how to do it and I have some cool-to-me songs that I'd like to convert into ringtones...

If there is someone who could clue me in, I'd really appreciate it.

thanks

You already have

all the software you need.

Have you a data cable?

If not, it's okay.

Using Windows Sound Recorder,

Cut out the section

of the song that you want

by using Edit/Delete before current position

and Edit/Delete after current position.

That part is straightforward, no?

Then save your "ringtone"

By going to File/Save as...

At the bottom, click "Change..."

To change the format.

Use the format "Microsoft ADPCM"

at 8.000kHz, 4kbps.

This is the format that

works on m55.

It may not on yours.

Sorry if it doesn't.

Now upload wav file

to sound folder in your phone

with your data cable.

If you don't have

a data cable,

then find a way to upload

it to the internet

and go to the url

you uploaded it on

on your mobile browser.

If the file doesn't download,

it may be too big... don't retry

you will still be charged for transmission.

sucks, eh?

that's why i reccomend

a data cable.
