We have 2 8910's here at home tonight. Wife's phone keeps giving the searching for signal jingle ocasionally, so I pick it up and look to see why. When it gets a signal it's in analog mode - low bars. Mine is receiving digital - full strength. The tower is just a 1/4 mile from us. What's up, did we mess up a setting on the phone somehow. I can't find any differences in our settings. I powered the phone off and back on twice, no change????????????????

Is the wife's phone possibly in force analog mode? I sometimes put mine in force analog mode just to run the battery down faster to deep cycle the battery.
Another thing to try is to unscrew the antenna and wipe it clean, it may not be making proper contact.

Aren't the attenna's on audiovox phones completley usless?

Victory, I can see an increase in my receive bar in most places if I extend the antenna. In my basement where my office is, it makes the difference between getting all calls and missing some if it's down, so I'd say it works. That applies to all 3 of my Audiovox phones too.

Home only - Doesnt allow roaming but allows analog and digital depending on your provider
Analog Only - Forces Analog on your provider but also if you roam you can get analog from those towers
Analog Home Only - Analog only on your providers network
Digital Only - 1x from any tower but wont allow analog service on any network (even your providers)
Automatic - the phone holds onto digital as much as it can, then goes down to analog .. roam automatically onto other networks if acceptable(the network allows it)

Should be in Automatic or Digital Only ..

For some reason I dont see a roaming option in the Menu > Settings location...

Is there a reason why I dont see it? Is it possible for me to switch it even though i dont see it?
