I assume that you have a MPx220?

if so, then you can use Smartione which is a very handy utility to edit your MPx220's registry among other things.

you'll have to register at the above link to be able to download the program but registration is free so have at it.

You can also check out PHM Registry Editor. It is just a registry editor.

I downloaded PHM Registry Editor. But it does not install in to my activesync "add/remove" window. Anybody knows why?

Thanks

You wanna try better one?

http://www.chrison.net/

You need two files out of downloaded package:

RegEdit_SMP.ARMV4.CAB

and

OpenNETCF.SDF.SMP.ARMV4.CAB

And yes, you need BOTH files. Second one are some Microsoft librarys...

Best one on the Smartphone platform now is Resco Explorer 2003 version 5.0.

sha12yog -

Here's how to install PHM Registry Editor 0.70 (regedit.Stngr_ARM.CAB) to your MPx220. Credit goes to ChrisJM and Brody at MSMobileNews.com.

Download the package selection for Smartphone 2002, 2003 (ARM/PXA) below.

PHM Registry Editor 0.70

Bluetooth

1. Open ActiveSync and click on Explore.

2. Go to My Smartphone.

3. Navigate to "StorageWindowsStart MenuAccessories" (for Windows Mobile 2003 devices) or "IPSMWindowsStart MenuAccessories" (for Smartphone 2002 devices).

4. Copy and Paste the .CAB/.HME file in this directory.

5. Click on Start and then Accessories in the Start Menu.

6. You should now see the file that you cut and paste into the Accessories folder (soft reset/restart it if it not visible and it will be afterwards), click on it to begin the installation.

7. For Windows Mobile 2003 devices, depending on if the file is digitally signed or not you may be presented with a screen informing you that the file may come from an untrustworthy source. Assuming you trust the file to be safe accept the warning to continue installation.

8. You may be presented with the option to install to your Smartphone’s memory or the Storage Card, this decision is yours however we suggest installing the majority of software to the Storage Card as it will more often than not have more free space and leaving more space on the phone's memory will improve its speed.

9. Give the file time to install, some files may take up to a minute or two depending on their file size and the number of operations that they perform so be patient.

10. When you are presented with a screen informing you that the file has installed successfully click OK and perform a soft reset (restart of the handset)

The file will now be installed onto your Smartphone!

NOTE: Upon running the installation the file will be deleted unless it was preset to read only. There is therefore normally no need to go back and delete the file as it will be done automatically. If the installation fails then repeat the process to try again, if the problem persists there may be a problem with the file that you are trying to install.
Some Windows Mobile 2003 Smartphones are application locked; this will restrict the access rights of installation files to certain parts of your phone’s registry. If you want to unlock your phone then follow the relevant article in our guides section.
