Upgraded to i830

I just upgraded to the I830 from I730. I used the program Micr*s*ft St**ts and T*ps with the I730 to keep track of locations out in the boonies that I needed to come back to(work). Now that I connected the I830 the lap top will not recognize the GPS function of the phone. Where am I going wrong. Thank you all who may be able to guide me some how!!
