I am in the market for a new service and phone .... been a nextel user for 6 years at least .. been a i730 owner 2 out of the 6 years..anyways ,,, i am ineterested in the koi alot but keep reading threads about not being able to do this and that ... and see some for the slider but honestly i don't really care for the slider that much ..but basicly looking for which is better to mod ..or in general which phones have the most available to do with them for customizing ..i like the image with the callerid idea..anyway to have a vid clip show up on startup... im a dork like that soo anything customizable i love

The Koi is way too fragile imo. One of my co-workers is on his 3rd one. And he's only had the phone for 2wks now from VZW. He says he keeps on having problems w/ the key pad not working or the screen just goes blank. I'd like to think that it's just him... but then again

?

I was originally going to get the Koi, but after seeing the problems that he's been having.....

I got my Koi about a month ago and i too are on my third phone. The first one the soeaker phone broke up a lot when in a call and as for my second one my camera when dead. Well i ahd my third one for abour a week or some and so far no problems. I do also think that this is a cool phone but they lacked on the programing. its really cheesy and bland. The camera sucks as well when in low light. I tried to change it but my 15 days thing was up so im stuck with this phone. Its not a bad phone but not a good phone ether. Looks cool service is good for the most part. if i needed to rate it i would give it a low 7

I haven't had a problem at all. I already modded the ×××× out of mine. Custom ringtones, screen savers, Wallpapers, caller ids. I sent pictures over from my computer and it displays them fine. Removed the verzion wireless bs thing. Edited some of the settings. Reminds me of my slider, i just wish it was as loud as my sliders ringtones. Once again, I haven't had one problem with this phone. I got it the first week it came out.

I have a slider and the only things you can do to it are remove the verizon wireless from the main screen. upload your own MP3 ringtones. upload your own backgrounds. and that's about it. it plays loud which is nice and looks cool but we just haven't been able to unlock as much as we want with the phone. maybe in the future we'll be able to unlock how to add animated wallpapers and maybe delete some brew locked files, but there really isn't too much that you can modify. because the kx2 has more accessories such as the camera and picture caller ID, I'm sure there's much more you can do without modifying it. I'm personally happy with my slider. as long as i can play good ringtones that still impress people because they're semi-clear and really loud, and put on my own backgrounds, not too much else I need to do with the phone except make calls. the slider is smaller too I believe.
