4900: Got cable, got software, but only 6 ringtones allowed!!?

I've had my 4900 only a week and I rushed out to get the data cable and Snapmedia software installed. Now that I've collected hundreds of midi's, I'm mad that the software/phone only lets you use a maximum 6 ringtones, period:
1 midi of about 100k
or 6 midis at 20k each
As each midi that I have is about 3k in size, shouldn't I be able to transfer 30 midi's to fill up the 100k allotted?
Anyone know a way around this, or do I have to "download" ringtones using the Vision service to get more tones in my phone?
Perplexed,
Sunny

free up the memory by deleting the demo games

I have 20 ringers under the download section on my 4900. I got mine from the various websites. I'm just guessing but maybe the limit of 6 you are getting has to with the snap media sofware and where it wants to put the files on your phone. If the files are going to the downloads section and you have memory you should be able to put as many as you want.

thanks windycity and dacman... yes, i think the snapmedia software is sending the files only to the PC Sync section of the phone. i'd like to know if there's any way to get it to put the files in another section like 'downloads' or to 'crack' the software to allow more files to be put into PC Sync.
anyone find a solution for this? i don't want to add Vision service yet, since my plan is so good right now... $50 for 1000 anytime, 3000 nights/weekends, 8pm night start. if I add Vision, i'd have to abandon my nice plan

i do have a nice plan and dont want to change because of vision, if you have vision phone and can go on web and you can download the ringers without problems. For some reason sprint does not charge me, it they do it is not much, ringers and images are not that huge.

thanks DacMan! i'll try it... i went to the web function and see that i can get on the net... i don't know what that means in terms of service charges. i'll try to set up a website on my own server and get my ringers... will let you know soon...

all right... i went to the a500hack site and followed instructions on setting up my own download site. i created a content file called momoney.gcd, but it doesn't work...
I keep getting error 906, invalid descriptor when trying to download the .gcd from my website. Anyone know what this is?
Here is my .gcd created in notepad:
Content-Type: audio/midi
Content-Name: MoMoney.mid
Content-Version: 1.0
Content-Vendor: SPCS
Content-URL: http://sunninho.com/sprint/ringtones/MoMoney.mid
Content-Size: 6019

$50 for 1000 anytime on Sprint? ..and I thought all they do was scam people's money. How you get that deal and is it still available?

When I called to ask for it, I was transferred to what basically is their retention dept. Depending on the representative, they'll try to make it easy or hard for you to get it, but insist on it. I personally know 3 other people, friends of mine, who have that plan.
Go for it... but definitely talk to a person, because you will not hear it from Claire... but, it's definitely in the system. Good luck!
