i downloaded my vids from my 860 and according to other posts i have read the files should play in windows media player yet they wont? Do i need a divix codec or something....or should i change the file name....im lost..help

No they will not play in windows media player. They wil however play in the same thing used to put them ON your phone.

I saw a link for this media player program on a diff site but never used it. Cant remember now and looking through my history didnt turn anything up sorry bro.
