I LOOKED ALL OVER HOWARDFORUMS AND I CANT FIND ANY ANSWERS. I RECENTLY GOT THE SK2, I DONT HAVE THE OLD ONE. I NEED RINGTONES! IF POSSIBLE CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A BREAK DOWN OF WHAT PROGRAMS I NEED AND HOW TO MAKE THE RINGTONES! MY FRIEND ALSO SAID THAT WE HAVE TO UNLOCK IT FIRST, HOW DO I GO ABOUT DOING THAT. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Unfortunatly, the guy that made Hiptones isnt allowed to distribute it anymore so only way at the moment is the catalog that I know of

WHERE COULD I FIND THE CATALOG?

Posted by: psychohex

If you have an active t-mobile account it will be on your sk2. Its called DownLoad Fun

Hi,

I understand that in order to get personal ringtones on one's SKII is to get this app and from the previous poster's reply it should be in the Download Fun section on it.

It's not...any other place I could look for it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

There is no app to enable personal ringtones at this moment.

That info is only valid for those that have a developers key. Because of abuse, them seem to be more difficult to get at the moment unless your an actual developer of apps , games, etc.

If you do have a key, you are good to go. Its actaully easier than hiptones (both are cake though). Ringtones still need to fall under the 100k guideline.

If you want it bad enough, learn some basic java skills and then apply for a key. There are tuorials over at http://developer.danger.com/phpBB/

Bogus. Do you know how I put ringtones or anything else on my other phones? Click and drag. END OF STORY.

I shouldn't have to learn Java and whatn't just to put ringtones on my phone. I know how to make the ringtones and splice them up better than the average bear, but I need to "study-up" and meet THEIR standards to put MY ringtones on MY phone? Bogus.

Do you think jumping, screaming, throwing a fit, and coughing *CINGULAR* when I'm at a T-Mobile store will get me a developer key?

Your preaching to the choir. But still, if you want them, then that is what you have to do for now

After reconsidering and playing with a SK2, the stock ringtones aren't all that bad. I may still get one afterall, custom ringtones or no.
