Hi all and hats off to a truly great forum, admin, and excellent contributors!
So sorry for the rather long Subject Header but I couldn't come up with a more concise version. I'm hoping that someone here will have already solved this challenge or at least be able to point me in the right direction...
Does anyone know how to get my Razr (on Cingular) working as a WAP connection for my Tapwave Zodiac (Palm OS 5x)? I have already succeeded in getting my Apple Powerbook doing just that, but can't seem to complete the connection on my Zodiac PDA. I believe it's the INIT String that isn't quite right.
It tries to connect, makes a Bluetooth connection to the phone, but won't quite get past the "Dialing Cingular" screen. It does have a generic GSM setting, but that doesn't seem to do the trick?
Here are my current settings on the Zodiac:
Service: Cingular (My name for connection)
User Name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Connection: V3Modem (My Bluetooth Settings)
Phone: wap.cingular
Clearly this isn't sufficient, but has worked on my Mac so it was used as a starting point (but my Mac has a proper INIT String, the Zodiac I don't believe does.
Any and all help will be most deeply appreciated!
Thanks
P.S. By the way... if you haven't checked out the Tapwave Zodiac, take a look. If you appreciate quality design and build, along with the Palm OS, you will get a serious kick out of it. Works brilliantly as a Palm PDA, full motion MP4 movie player (can watch converted DVD's on it EASILY) with only a two step porting process, plays games and audio better than most anything out there (just not enough of them that take advantage of the Zod's capability, has 128MB (Zodiac 2 model) built in ram, 2 SD slots (1 of them SDIO), Bluetooth, amazing screen, fast processors (yes multi) and much more. Very sweet indeed.
I just upgraded from my all time favorite PDA the Sony UX50, (the small screen finally did me in) and this puppy rocks! (Disclaimer: I have no association with Tapwave, Sony or any other related company), just really impressed so far with this device; and will be even more so once someone here helps me overcome this connection issue with Cingular!
Cheers!
