8900 Always thinks flip-open

I just got my 8900 replaced by Verizon over the weekend and I got home and started to play with it. I noticed when someone was calling me, it did not show the name on the outside. Still showed the time as usual. I also noticed the volume was really low, although I had it set to "High and Vibe". Then I started to notice other strange behavior. When I flip open the phone, it does not answer the call (Although active-flip is set to yes). Also, closing the flip does not end the call (you must press End.) When I flip open the phone, the backlight does not turn on either. After all this, I didn't know if I had settings messed up or not. Now I'm starting to think that the phone is broken that Verizon gave me (probably refurbished), and for some reason, the phone always thinks the flip is open (which explains all the above behavior).

What do you guys think?

yup, sounds like for some reason its not realizing that the flip is closed.. take it back to verizon.
