I followed xlr8 excellent instructions
on hex editing but after uploading the
edited seem and checking phone status/
other information/technology I still see
GSM 900/1800-1900.

Can I edit seems on a locked phone?

You may want to find the monster pack or the flex/flash for your v600 and use that - that is if you phone is unlocked..

a. is your phone unlocked?
b. if not how long have you been with tmobile? if its more then 90 days and your in good standing you can get the unlock code free.
c. you might not be able to save the seem file if your phone is locked it may seem its saved but make sure.

Thats a separate seem you have to edit, seem 0071?? I believe??

Search for the Quadband a630 thread and there are instructions in there.

The seem you probably edited allows you to pick up the 850 band, go to Settings-Network-Network Setup, and select band.
you will now see 850/1900.
So you DID add the 850 band, you just didnt edit the seem that says TECHNOLOGY, it doesnt change the fact it is there.

You are correct Silverburst . The 850 band is now active. Now I just have to edit
seem 0171. Thanks

0171 is just a text ID. It has nothing to do with enabling 850. You want to edit 0025
