CDM9900: Turned on phone, and then it froze... Now what?

Earlier today I turned on my CDM9900, and upon loading up and showing my wallpaper (and that I had a new text message), it appears to have locked up.

When I flip it open, everything looks as it should be, but when I hit a button, nothing happens.

Furthermore, when I hit a voulme button when the phone is closed, the external screen goes stark white with the time in small letters at the top (usually the clock is big and centered on a black background).

I removed the battery for a few seconds thinking that might resolve the issue, but when I put it back in, the phone was right back where it was... Frozen, and the buttons doing nothing.

I'd appreciate any kind of feedback in this matter, as I am not sure what would be causing this.

As soon as I turned the phone on (to check time), I promptly tried to turn it off again, but it appears to have "hung" there, and that's where it's frozen now. The phone's screen, wallpaper, etc. looks as it should, but the buttons aren't doing anything.

Final note, when closed, the volume buttons (on side) cause the extenral screen to go white, but when the phone is flipped open, they do nothing. I gather the buttons are working, the "signal" just isn't getting through. IE, it's frozen. I called my cell from my house phone, and it rings on my (house) end, but the cell doesn't vibrate or indicate an incoming call.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Just a update..

I resolved this issue by removing the battery for a minute, and putting it back in.

I tried this initially, but I hadn't removed the battery long enough.

Removing the battery seemed to "reset" the phone, and when I turned it on, it started up like normal.

So if this happens to you, I recommend removing the battery for a minute or so, and then putting it back in and turning on the phone.

Take care.
