MPx220 Windows Media Player Problems

Okay, so I just got a headphone adapter for my MPx220 so I can listen to MP3s while I'm at the gym without having to bring a bunch of stuff. I am using BetaPlayer since it is the only media player that I can easily use Playlists, but it won't play a few (95%) of my MP3s and says they're in an unknown format. WMP on the MPx however, plays them just fine, but I don't know how to use Playlists in WMP. Can somebody point me in the right direction on how to use Playlists with the MPx220's Windows Media Player? Also, how do I get items from the playlist to the "favorites" list? Thanx!

WMP uses the ASX format playlists (as opposed to the M3U format that everyone else uses). There is an application called Playlist Manager for SP2003 (and it's free) that helps in making playlists in the Microsoft ASX format that WMP can handle. you can find it at: airf agev.com

(for whatever reason, this web site goofs up the link, replacing the letters "f a g" with "x x x". You will have to manually fix the URL to get to the actual website)
