Speakerphone mode for other apps on SX66

Is there any way to use the external audio speakers (like the speakerphone mode uses) for other applications, like Windows Media Player? I tried holding down the phone button while WMP was playing a clip, but all that did was dial the phone :-( It seems rather stupid to listen to a movie clip by holding the phone to your ear, and thus not be able to watch the clip. I suppose they want you to use earphones?

Thanks
Andy

My SX66 seems to work just fine when I am in Windows Media Player. As long as I turn up the volume, it is quite loud enough to listen to without holding the phone up to my head.

Do either of you have problems with the speakerphone in phone mode? The volume of mine is way too low even though it is set on high. Earpiece or holding close to your ear the only way to go?

No, not really. In phone mode I find it works pretty well. I do think that the volume of the phone in general is too low everywhere, but the speaker mode is pretty good.

I have actually gotten speaker mode to work in MediaPlayer before, but I am not sure how. It worked before I "Hard Reset" my device, but no longer works now. It may have been a by-product of some of the apps I had installed that I havent reinstalled since the reset.

I too have had no problems with the external speaker when using WMA Player and Pocket TV, as a matter fact I have had an e740 and still have an ipaq 5500 which are ok but the audio quality and volume of the SX66 I find to be much better than both the above PDAs.

I also use it with TomTom Navigator and have no problems hearing directions while driving.
