DVD on MPX220???

Dear Everyone
I downloaded a dvd onto my computer and it saved in powerdvd format. I downloaded windows movie maker to convert it to the cell phone format.
I have 2 questions:
How do i edit the movie to make the resolution smaller? It won't let me edit it as it is a powerdvd file
What Format do i have to put it in for the mpx220 (resolution...)
