I've read forum members here are able to get the amazon rebate when pairing up with only the data plan. Can anyone confirm? Eventho amazon requires a voiceplan+data they were able to cancel the voice and stick only wit the data ($29.99) and amazon still honored the rebate. I just ordered mine through amazon, just want to make sure.

Well I can't say for sure that Amazon will allow you to keep the rebate but www.letstalk.com will. I purchased one through them with a $39.99/voice and $20/Data with every intention of using this device for both. But I've been allowed to keep an employee plan that I had with my former company and called in to Letstalk.com and told them I'd be cancelling the voice. They said, while they want people to keep the $39.99 voice, which allowed for an instant online rebate, I wouldn't get dinged if it was cancelled. As long as my data goes up to $29.99, which it has, I'd be fine.

So I'd think Amazon would be the same seeing as how letstalk.com is still getting reimbursed enough to allow this... I'm assuming.

When you cancelled your voice line, did tmo charged early term. fee?

Nope... the phone number that was assigned is still a valid active number for the data plan. You just get billed a flat $.20/min. for usage. So to them it's not a cancellation, and neither is it to the originating dealer that activated you.
