Write protection on a miniSD adapter (PQI)

Last Saturday I finally gave in and purchased a PQI 512MB miniSD card from Fry's ($59.99, I think) because the 1GB cards look like they are a few months away from being available from anyone but Teravit (nothing against Teravit, I just prefer avoiding some of the problems people wrote about in the miniSD thread). The card is working without a problem in my phone (fw 1.3) but when I insert it in my card reader it seems to be stuck in write protect mode (I can browse and open content but can't save). I've never owned an SD card so I had to turn to google to find out where the write protect tab is on an SD card. It turns out there should be a small tab on the left side of the card that slides to toggle write protection. Basically, the adapter that came with my miniSD card doesn't seem to have one.

Can someone who bought a PQI miniSD tell me if your adapter is the same as mine? I transferred one album over Bluetooth and it took nearly 30 minutes so I'm desperately hoping I'll be able to transfer files with my card reader.

Thanks. Picture included (taken with Mpx220 at 1280x960 fluorescent, normal brightness then resized to 800x600 and auto level correction with GIMP)

My card had the tab. I bought mine from ebay though. I would say return it and check their inventory for one with a little gra tab in the void you have pictured.

Great. I just wanted to make sure they don't all ship like mine. Thanks for the help.

I don't have a PQI, but as you can see from this picture, the MiniSD-to-SD adapter clearly has a little gray tab. You can even see the volume-like arrow pointing down, followed by "LOCK" to let me know when it's locked or unlocked.

Hope that helps...
