I have my mpx220, and I think its OK. I have had three, and this one seems stable, but I seriously am wondering about its longevity. After two weeks its got some wiggles and creaks....
So Im wondering if I should go for an SMT5600 (but cant get one at a cingular store, can i?) or a V551, or maybe another MPX220?
This is my work phone, I have a razr for my personal, so I need something which is going to work, and voice dial would be nice. I dont want to have to touch the phone to make a call, which bummed me about the 220...voice recognition is great, but I dont want to have to hit a series of keys to get to it!

first of all, you cant put the V551 in the same arena as the MPx220 or the SMT5600 because two out of the three are smartphones and the other one obviously isnt.
as for the SMT5600, I dont know about chooosing it over the MPx220. I think that the Moto just looks alot better than the plain, normal cell phone look like the SMT5600 has.

I will admit that the SMT5600 does not look as "sexy" as the MPx220, however it is one hell of a solid phone. good feel and weight with absolutely ZERO issues.
I have been using it as my primary phone for a month now and absolutely love it. I have heard that the Cingular (formally AT&T stores) have the 5600 in the back room.
A co-worker of mine went to the local store and they had to pull one out of the back, but sold it to him with no problems.

Well, here is my problem now...
Cant get the SMT5600 unless I want to cancel and sign up with ATT....cingular has no idea about when they will offer them.
They told me that they are also strongly considering dropping the MPX220, they have dropped their ordering from motorola down significantly, the guy I spoke to hinted that they were just getting enough to fulfill repairs.
I just want a phone which works!
