MP3 Help for Nokia 6600

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Pearle

I have tried the drag and drop method. The file doesn't show up in the digital folder. Please, somebody help me. I have searched and I can't find the answer. I am using an mp3 file, 64 kbps, mono, 16000 Hz. What am I doing wrong? Thanx

u will first have to install a third party mp3 player like ultramp3 (www.lonelycatgames.com) to be able to play mp3s as 6600 doesn't come with one pre-installed.

there are also aps liek mp3 player, gomp3..stuff like that

Thank you for your responses. Do I need to use PC Suite to get this MP3 player into the phone? I don't have bluetooth or infrared. Is there any way to drag and drop this or is that just ringtones? Thanx again

u cant get the mp3 player into your phone if u dont have bt/ir/mmc reader @_@

I do have a card reader. I use it to read my trans flash card, but it will read the MMC card as well. The files show up on the card, but not in the phone. Can you drag and drop everything or do you need a cable for some things? What are the most important apps to have? Thanx

Just drag and drop the mp3 installaion sis file in the MMC (remember the folder where u put it). Put the MMC back in phone. Now go to Menu > Tools > File mngr. > Browse to where u put the file and click it. It will install automatically.

you can convert the .mp3 files in Nokia PC Suite or just convert the files to .ogg. There is a free program listed in that thread and I just used it with success.

I went from a 8290 to a CSK then to a V300... I dont plan on going back to moto anytime soon. I love my 6600 and i have only had it for 3 days now.

I used BT to transfer my music over. Before i had a BT device for my computer i just took the memory card out of the phone and put it in my 7 in 1 card reader.
