I was able to get a good deal on a brand new Nextel 7510 brand new still in box. I was told that a virgin phone will work on any network. But I am pretty sure that Nextel and Telus (a Canadian service provider)7510 phones have different software installed at RIM. Is their anyway to change the software in the phone to a the Telus provider. Any help would be great. Thanks

Nextel phones will work on any iden network. There really isn't a reason to need or think that the software would be different either. Just put your Telus sim in it with the data plan activated and go to it....

i have a nextel phone activated using a Telus SIM card, everythign works EXCEPT the Data plan, i tried updating the software, and calling telus, both told me that they have a service agreement with NEXTEL not to activate the handsets of competetors on each others network, so basically it boils down to the Handset not being able to be regestered with telus,
you can still use it as a mike phone, and a regular phone, but the data plan so far is a NO GO,
Let me know if you figure something out,
