Best Flash Flex Combo v220 and v600

First off sorry for the newbie questions.....


What do you guys consider the best flash/ flex combos for
a)motorola v220
b)motorola v600

I have been a nokia guy my whole cell phone life (not counting that qualcomm brick phone 6-7 years ago) but I got a good deal on a pair of motos and have jumped in with both feet...but both phones are full of cingular crud....and frankly I like messing with my stuff so it is not "normal" any good ideas would be appreciated!

Well don't know much about the v220 but i just flashed my v600 to the v620 flash and flex and so far i love it no problens all went well


I used Flex=SE5109AXXXX056

Flash=TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.4FR

I think that is one of the best unbranded you will get and it will NOT lock your your phone good luck

Thanks for the info... The v600 is my baby and I'll try those today....now if I can just get some ideas for the v220 so my wife will give me my 600 back.......

flash and flex you do this you will need to copy all these filesin the 3rd file to your /a/ directory for the sound to work right most of the files are already in your a directory but you will let them over write the files reboot and alls well directions included in the files.. If you need them just email me and i will send them to you or if you just need one or all

edit note.....is that "v220 emea generic core model"... the base unbranded "strait from the factory" flash!!?!?!? I can cross my fingers and hope......

guys... forget about that file... this one supplied to me by Boylin (Much thanks there!) is awesome.

It freed up a bunch of memory... it is unbranded... and frankly... I get a bit better picture quality.... and it might be my imagination... but it even gets a better signal I think..... just try it!!! it is a flash/flex monster file.... it rocks!

here's a link to the monsterpack mentioned above

i flashed my phone with this yesterday and it was very intent on connecting to at&t's towers instead of cingular's. i know that they merged, but every call that i made or got became a roaming call for some reason. also, the flex seemed very buggy and would freak my phone out on occasion. i recommend putting the flash on, but changing the flex to a different one

i kept the flash, but updated to this new flex: http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...threadid=558670
it's a cingular flex stripped down to save battery life, it's been working great for me

I got this flex...(the cinguallar battery saver one)... but here comes a n00B question...
this won't add any cingular crud back on my phone will it?? the flash is the OS basically.. while the flex is the BIOS sortof right??? or am I way off target here...????

i just started doing this stuff yesterday, but i've been learning extremely quickly, i might still be wrong, though.

the flash is the firmware of the phone, the part that makes the phone run the way it does

the flex is sort of like the bios settings. more like an operating system, though. it contains all of the configs and settings for a phone, as well as all the files inside it (images, ringtones, games) and such.

the stripped down flex i have now is cingular branded, meaning you get the cingular logo on bootup, but other than that it's pretty clean. i'm not sure what was removed when it was stripped down, but a lot of the junk is gone, and there are minimal references to cingular, if any. i definitely recommend this flex as opposed to the flex included in the monster pack above

Ok.... Thats sort of what I was getting at....but you worded it much better ... so I think I minght try this flex... then try out my seem editing knowledge..(somewhere between none and more none....) and try see if I can get the cingular off.... I am starting to get used to the terms finally....just need to get the "stuff" to do it all figured out now.... I feel like the first time I opened up the side of my PC.... ahhh the good old days........ heh... well I'll let you know if I get it!!!!or what not to do after I fry my phone< hehe

Please help me, i want change the flash in my fone v220, but the flex??
